b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 I have attached the latest log file, I have had to trim it to reduce the 256mb file to something reasonable but i only removed the repeated message. All add-ons have been removed and I am running the beta server 3.2.33. I have been having a few issues lately with stability so have turned off auto update too until I resolve why the server is having problems. server-63644659201.txt
Luke 42078 Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Hi, what is the problem that you're experiencing? I would suggest updating to the latest version of Emby Server. Thanks.
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted October 27, 2017 Author Posted October 27, 2017 Evening Luke, the issue is the server becomes unreachable but I can still access the computer remotely via another method, it’s been happening a lot recently which is why I have removed all the plugins. Interestingly I have tried to update since making my op and the server is stuck in a restart loop. It says to restart to finish the installation but then the server never restarts. Manually starting the server brings me back to the restart message
Luke 42078 Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 I would try just running the installer from the website, thanks.
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted October 28, 2017 Author Posted October 28, 2017 I take it the auto update got corrupted somehow then? I’ll try manually installing from the site later and let you know the outcome
Luke 42078 Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 No, something was just holding a lock on a file preventing the folder from being moved, most likely.
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 I installed from the site but took a while, the installer kept failing due to a file or folder still being accessed. A few attempts and a couple of reboots later and I installed finally. I then had the same issue updating to .36 and had to manually install. I am still having remote access issues and have to get the server rebooted (easier than guiding them through shutting the process and restarting Emby server
Luke 42078 Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 I would suggest checking out our Connection Troubleshooter. Please try the steps listed there and let us know exactly what succeeds and what doesn't. Thanks !
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 Ok so the current, main, issue always seems to be when I go to my fiancé’s house. She has a 40mb down/10mb up connection, exactly the same as my place which houses the server machine. At hers we use a fire stick which has perfect WiFi and can access everything else fine. I have an airplay program on my pc that allows me to remotely view my computer so I know when I have connection issues it is with the server only. The only recovery, remotely is to reboot the machine. If I was there I would restart the server, this is becoming a more regular theme over the last few weeks. So when I can’t access the server from the fire stick I use the laptop to use Emby connect which fails to find the server. I know my ports are all forwarded and I know my IP address is correct, all the normal 101 tests and basic troubleshooting guides have been done. Looking through the logs is looks like it could be an ffprobe issue?

Luke 42078 Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Can you please go through the steps in the document and let us know exactly what succeeds and what doesn't. Thanks !
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 Sorry Luke, what is it you are looking for? When I can’t access the server remotely, it is across the board. Any app, web access, any device. The server is down for everybody and cannot he accessed remotely. When I am near the server, I just shutdown and restart Emby server and all is good again for 24hrs. When I am remote, then I cannot access the machine to be able to do anything
Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 (edited) Have you restarted the machine Emby is installed on? Your last last is filed with "Busy: database is locked" errors also. Edited November 6, 2017 by Happy2Play
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 Yeah, it is having a daily reboot at the moment. Something has gone amiss over the last few weeks, be it a software issue or something else on the os causing a problem
Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Do you still have a FFMPEG folder in your install folder with all of the other config folders? If so could you delete it, restart Emby and see if you still have issues. If you do still have issues please post another log.
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 Thank you happy, I’ll try that and monitor it for a few days and let you know
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted November 14, 2017 Author Posted November 14, 2017 I still seem to be getting quite a few FFprobe errors in the logs, but I am convinced its something to do with the Emby auto updater. I deleted the triggers for checking for new versions (which makes no difference may I add) and have disabled auto install updates. This seems to have resolved the issue slightly but the server is still unstable and it seems to revolve around the update process. I currently still cannot update via the web interface of the server, I have to manually update by pulling from the website and installing over my installation
Luke 42078 Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Please see How to report a problem. Thanks.
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted November 15, 2017 Author Posted November 15, 2017 Please see How to report a problem. Thanks. That is what this thread is Luke
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 Well I’ve been doing some testing and some digging as I don’t seem to be getting much response here. I installed from the website, the stable build, hoping it would resolve my issues but it hasn’t. I still have exactly the same problems as before. All my ports are correctly setup, firewalls and routers are configured right, server is currently sitting on the latest stable build 3.2.40 I believe. I tried to remotely connect 30 minutes ago from a fire stick and it couldn’t find the server, dropping me into the manually enter server details. The last time this happened there was an update waiting for auto organise, seems if there is ever an update waiting then the server doesn’t respond. Auto restart always fails. I’ve even removed all entry’s for check for updates to software and plugins and removed the checkbox in settings but the software still looks for updates. This in itself is inexcusable, if I tell a piece of software not to do something then I expect it to not do it. There is clearly an issue that has been overlooked as scanning the forum I am clearly not the only one to have an issue. It does seem to be connected to ffmpeg and/updates
Luke 42078 Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 If you have automatic updates disabled, the software will still look for updates so that it can inform you about them on the server dashboard. There's nothing inexcusable about that, sorry. Also, plugins always update automatically for compatibility reasons.
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 I have removed the triggers for updates and also auto update. I currently don’t want anything to update without my direct interaction. I need to be able to have full control of software on my machine
Luke 42078 Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 As I said, it won't update, but it will still check to see if updates are available so that it can tell you about them.
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 As I said, it won't update, but it will still check to see if updates are available so that it can tell you about them. So what would you suggest could be the issue here then? Changing the stream bitrate lower makes no odds, just lowers the quality remotely (when it’s working) help me to decipher the error so that I can help you in solving a potential bug
Luke 42078 Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I guess I'm a little unclear on what your issue. You said in one post you can't connect at all, but now you're asking about bitrates, which suggests that you can connect?
