foghat 65 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Hey all, I think this has been happening since upgrading to 3.0.5171.19958, but I can't be 100% certain. Whenever I restart the server or shut it down and start, my TV section disappears when viewing my library. A 'scan media library' takes care of things, but still... Anyone else experiencing this? Attached is a server log for a server start-up (after I shut it down) and then a 'Browse Library' launch. server-63529378079.log
Luke 42078 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 did you disable the startup library scan? that is why. it is still on my to do list to now allow it to be disabled. it is quick and once you get through that startup sequence your'e good to go
cylon 15 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I am having the same issue, TV and music disappear from all clients until I do a scan. Movies are OK for some reason. I have disabled the startup library scan. Initially I thought it was a problem with my unRAID server but my music is on a USB3 drive directly connected to the HTPC (running MBS) and all my movies are on unRAID so there is something else causing this. I disabled real time monitoring in the hope that would fix it but it hasn't.

I cannot find where one would enable/disable start up scan - can you point me in the right direction and I'll check if it is on or off.
Tikuf 663 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Dashboard / scheduled tasks click on scan task and change the triggers
foghat 65 Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 Dashboard / scheduled tasks click on scan task and change the triggers Right. I knew that. Okay, I will check when I get home - I am sure it is not set to scan on start-up right now. That said, I am positive I have not changed that setting in the last couple of months. And this has only started happening somewhat recently - most likely since the last server upgrade. And, again, only with TV shows. I obviously don't know the inner workings of mbs, but having to complete a scan at start-up to overcome this issue seems a bit off. One would think the server would 'remember' what is in its library. At any rate, not a big deal, I can do a scan at start-up. Thanks.
cylon 15 Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 @@Luke, has this been resolved? Can we remove the On application startup trigger from the Scan the media library task under Scheduled Tasks?
