Live TV in Theater choosing wrong audio

Sometimes playing Live TV, it's playing the audio track for the visually impaired (the descriptive voice over)

It's direct playing, so it looks like this is just what mpv thinks is the default track.

So far it just looks it's one channel. It plays correctly in the HDHR player. I'll have to look a little deeper and try to figure out what mpv is doing.

I have this same problem. I have it only on the FXX channel in the Windows 10 Theater app. The normal Windows app plays fine. However, in some programs it will play spanish instead of the descriptive audio track.

In addition, if I record a program, it will play the correct audio, regardless of app.

When you record, the server chooses the stream. With desktop app (assuming you direct play), mpv chooses the stream.

Luke, one thing I didn't mention was that there isn't an option to select the correct stream. In these cases, they broadcast both, but they don't appear in Theater. Can that be corrected, so we at least can choose?

When you record, the server chooses the stream.

Correction - if you record without the recording conversion feature enabled, then the entire live stream is preserved as it was, including all available tracks.

Oh, that's good. Can we have the same for live TV?

It's the same thing when direct playing with mpv in emby theater.

Hmmmm...if that were the case, why did I not have the option to choose the other track? I remember that we used to have the option in the overlay, but it's not there, anymore. I'm going to poke around in the mpv logs.

Ok, so yes both audio tracks are delivered. Nice!

[cplayer] (+) Audio --aid=1 --alang=eng (ac3 6ch 48000Hz)
[ 1.774][i][cplayer] Audio --aid=2 --alang=spa (ac3 2ch 48000Hz)

And obviously mpv needs to select one to play.

[ 1.826][v][af] [ao] 48000Hz stereo 2ch spdif-ac3

What I'm asking for is to have the selection back in the overlay, so that if the wrong one is selected, we can easily switch.

There apparently is provision for this

The track selection was lost after we removed probing the live stream. We need to rebuilt it but instead use the track list from the player rather than the server. Between now and the time when that happens, i would imagine you could do something with your mpv conf to influence what track gets chosen.

I briefly looked into something like that. Using the # shortcut would be great, but they aren't enabled. If I get the occurring more often, I'll look further into it
