Ok so you guys were so helpful with my first issue using Emby I figured I'd try again.

What do I need to do to enable closed captions for Live/Recorded TV? I can view/record TV just fine through my HDHomeRun Prime but I can't seem to get captioning to work. There's no CC option listed in Emby Theater or in the iOS app. When I try playing a recorded TV show in MPC-HC there's no subtitle track (for captions). However when I record the exact same show through the same HDHomeRun using Windows Media Center and view the .wtv file in MPC-HC the subtitle track is there and captioning works fine.

Is there something I need to enable to get Emby to record the closed captioning track?

Thanks

Hi, have you enabled the realtime recording conversion feature?

No, but I do have "preserve original video & audio" enabled. I also have "enable hardware transcoding" turned on. Could either of those be the culprit?

If I don't use the realtime recording conversion is there something else that could be stripping the captions from my recordings in Emby?

@@Luke - Any idea why this would be happening? What steps should I be going through to troubleshoot this?

Thank you!

Hi, we will have a response for you, thank you for your patience. In the meantime i would suggest disabling the recording conversion feature because that will capture the raw original stream as-is. Thanks.

@@neush1 can we please look at a playback example? please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !

Here you go @@Luke, here's my server log. Anything else you need in order to troubleshoot this? Like I said, when I record these same shows using WMC I get closed captions from my HDHomeRun. For some reason when I record or watch from Emby the caption stream is missing.
