MrMind 2 Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 My configuration: Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (fresh install)Geforce GTX760 with 388.00 drivers (fresh install)HDMI High Speed Cable 0.8MSamsung KS7000 (KS8000 in US), HDMI input set as Blu-ray player (if PC I can't change to "Movie" mode), UHD Color EnabledEmby Theater 2.9.3 with MADVR 0.91.10 (included), Madvr video player enabled I tried to play Life_of_ Pi_draft_Ultra-HD_HDR, Exodus_UHD_HDR_Exodus_draft and full length HDR movies. Nothing works. In MADVR settings I have: //C:\Users\Marcin\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\COMObjects\madVR properties: PC levels, 10 bit (or higher)hdr: "passthrough HDR content to display" and "use Nvidia's private API"rendering -> general settings -> enable automatic fullscreen exclusive mode -> ENABLED In Nvidia Control panelRefresh rate: 30HzDesktop color depth: Highest (32 bit)Output color depth: 12 bpcOutput color format: YCbCr422Output dynamic range: Limited SCREENSHOTS: https://imgur.com/a/Azr9Q What should I change to play HDR movies?
MrMind 2 Posted October 24, 2017 Author Posted October 24, 2017 I don't know but I guess Geforce 7-series is enough to play HDR content. https://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-760/specifications
SamES 1057 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 (edited) I assume you're not in US or UK. If you are, have you tried using the native Samsung app as it should be a better option, it will play 4K HDR content. Edit: I think from the other topic you want TrueHD, that would be an issue then Edited October 25, 2017 by SamES
Guest asrequested Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 That might be part of the problem. Check and see if your card supports HEVC. HEVC takes a lot of processing. If your card can't use HWA for HEVC, that could be causing some issues.
MrMind 2 Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 According to wikipedia GTX760 doesn't have HWA for HEVC https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia_PureVideo#The_sixth_generation_PureVideo_HD If that is the reason I need to buy new card
Guest asrequested Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 That combined with using MadVR requires quite a bit of juice. You could try lowering the settings and see if it makes a difference. There's still a chance something else is going on.
