Watching current recording, timeshifting, remembering where I left off

I've been using Emby for 3 months or so now with a HDHomerun Extend. I quit having it transcode the stream and just let it save as .ts files using the "heavy" profile on the extend to do some "free" transcoding. Works well for the most part.  I do have a couple of questions/requests.

First off is it possible to have it remember where I left off while watching a currently recording show?  For instance I watched a NFL game yesterday. First half I watched upstairs and then moved downstairs to watch the second half.  Both TVs are using the Amazon Fire versions of Emby (fire stick and fire 4k box). I got downstairs and had to fast forward to where I left off. It didn't remember where I left off.

Also when I fast forward currently recording shows it's slow and sometimes doesn't work at all. Yesterday at halftime when I switched TVs I wanted to skip 95 mins which was about 10 mins behind live. Since it didn't remember where I left off I had to use the 30 second skip. Not a huge pain but not fun either. I skipped to that point (pushing skip 190 times) and it hung but never got there. After multiple attempts I determined I couldn't skip more than 4-5 mins at a time reliably without it freezing. So I'd hit skip 8 times, wait 5-10 secs for it to return, and then skip another 8 times (4 mins). Repeat until I got to 95 mins which took a while.

Any thoughts on the skipping issue or if there will be the ability to remember where I left off on a currently recorded show? I swear that functionality was there before to remember where I left off but maybe it was a show that already finished recording.

Thanks!

I have seen/experienced both of these points.

In relation to the 1st I am pretty sure that when playing active recordings was 1st brought in that IT DID log the resume point as you watched it.  But now, as you have pointed out, it does not do that.  If you back out, the only option you have is to start again from the beginning.

Again in regards to seeking within the stream, this has also become more flakey since inception.  I am not going to waffle on without backup evidence but just thought that I would acknowledge that you are "not alone" with these issues.

We haven't yet added support for remembering the position

+1 to the pain of switching currently recording shows.  This is especially apparent when I am moving from TV (Shield TV) to Laptop, as my Laptop doesn't allow me to fastforward right up front (it seems to need to 'load' the show in 30s increments?)  So I need to basically start the stream ~10min before I want to switch over to my laptop so that it will have cached enough for me to fast forward an hour+ into the stream.
