tryum 0 Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Hey there,I wasn't able to find emby for Android TV on the store directly from the TV, so I did a web install. Google Play Store (web) confirms that the app is installed on my TV, but can't find it anywhere. The TV is running Android TV 6.Does anyone have a clue ?Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Hi, is this the app you installed? https://emby.media/emby-for-android-tv.html
FunkadelicRelic 10 Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 I have that exact TV and the Emby client appeared in my Play Store when I went to install it. I just typed 'Emb' the auto complete feature listed it and I clicked it and it was displayed. Strangely though, if I typed the whole thing it would never find it. Assumed it was a Play Store or TV bug.

Also though, have you disabled the Sony Shelf app and recommendation row to speed the TV up (a common fix to make the GUI sluggishness a bit better)? If so, I noticed that sometimes not all apps show on the home screen. Check Settings - Apps - Installed apps and see if Emby is there but just hiding.

The fix makes life a bit better but I'm still considering getting a Roku 4k streaming stick, setting up DVR and using that as the default source so I don't have to go into Android on the TV. A real shame as the image quality is fantastic!
tryum 0 Posted October 27, 2017 Author Posted October 27, 2017 I managed to find the app on the store, but not on the first try... really strange (And the app wasn't already install unlike what Web Playstore was telling me !) Thanks for the UI speed-up tips FunkadelicRelic, it's day and night ! I still have to hack my way into the android TV app, seems some features are missing (downloading subtitles from app)... maybe I'll give a try to xbox one app as well
