Theater not updating

Hi guys,

For some reason neither of my PCs with MBT installed are updating automatically. One is on 2.8.8 (just updated manually to 2.9.3) and the other is on 2.8.6.

 

Anybody know why?

I was about to post this very same thing and don't know why but it seems I always have to manually update ET on Win7x64.

 

If an update rolled between v2.8.8 and v2.9.3 I did not know of it and the only reason I knew of this one was due to the announcement the other day.

 

I don't see a "Check for Updates" option in Settings either.

Is that any different from manually updating using the zip file from GitHub?

 

I'll gladly reinstall from the website if there's a difference, because in the meantime I manually upgraded both machines to 2.9.3 by copying the GitHub files.

Always follow the instructions on the website. That is the only supported method.

Am I missing something? Does ET not auto update or have the option to check for updates?

It auto updates. There is an issue though in some of the later 2.8.x versions preventing it though, so if you have those then you'll need to do a one time manual update. Thanks.

Well. That explains it then! It seemed that previously I was always on the most current version and when I checked for frame rate switching this morning it wasn't there, cluing me in to a possible problem. When I checked it was v2.8.8.
