dompun 0 Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Hello,I have installed Emby server on a desktop pc, and Emby app on a Roku 3.I am a new user, and have been able to play several movies withoutissues, but am having trouble with one that cannot be played.Soon after starting the movie, a file loading progress bar appeared on the TV screen. The bar was repeated once or twice, when progress became stuck. The difference between this movie and the other ones that I was able to play is thefile size. This one is 36GB whereas the other ones were less than 8GB.Maybe some of my settings are wrong?(I also have Plex installed and was able to stream this movie without issues)System:Windows 8.1 pc, connected to router by ethernet cable.Roku 3 on TV connected to router by powerline adapters.Emby server 3.2.32.0, Emby Roku app 3.0.50Server log and ffmpeg log attached.Thank you for your assistance in advance. ffmpeg.txt server.txt
Luke 42089 Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 hi @@dompun I would suggest going into the Emby Roku app settings and setting the streaming bitrate to a lower value. For example, try 10mbps. This will force a full video transcode and reduce the size of the data coming out of Emby Server. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !
dompun 0 Posted October 19, 2017 Author Posted October 19, 2017 Hi @@Luke, I changed the bitrate setting from "auto" to 20mbps and it worked. Thank you.If the bitrate is set to "auto", does Emby read the bitrate stored in the NFO file and play at that rate?If so, can I change the bitrate in the NFO file so that Emby will "remember" the correct rate? Thanks
Luke 42089 Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 hi @@dompun, the bitrate in the nfo is the bitrate of the source video. The bitrate setting in the Roku app is the bitrate you're actually playing the video at. They are two different things. The app will remember it. Does this answer your question? thanks.
