ebr 16174 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Thanks for you help guys, version 1.4.57 Okay, that is the beta and True HD playback is a known issue with that. If you revert to the store version, it should begin direct playing again.
CBers 7450 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Just being nosey, but isn't the video being transcoded as well, from hevc to x264?
ebr 16174 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Just being nosey, but isn't the video being transcoded as well, from hevc to x264? Yes, any time we do a transcode it is also probably going to involve a container swap (to .ts) which may also limit the video codec compatibility.
mata7 45 Posted October 13, 2017 Author Posted October 13, 2017 (edited) thanks for you help guys, revert back to stable emby shield app UHD HDR Remux plays fine and no transcode, if i select subtitles PGS it will transcode, so i guess you guys dont support PGS Sub, are you going to fix this? the only movie that transcode is Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, reason for transcode Media bitrate exceeds limit here is the log for that movie, again thanks for you help ffmpeg-transcode-6bab6f13-655c-48b0-b6c2-8c2b8ad9961c.txt Edited October 13, 2017 by mata7

So the question is do you have a bitrate limit set anywhere?
ebr 16174 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 The beta version does support PGS subs without transcoding. It is just not going to support TrueHD. We hope to be able to fix that soon as that is the only reason this version has not been released yet on Google (it has been out for a while on Amazon).
mata7 45 Posted October 13, 2017 Author Posted October 13, 2017 Thanks ebr, can you please take look why im getting the bitrate limit please
ebr 16174 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Thanks ebr, can you please take look why im getting the bitrate limit please The auto setting maxes out at 80Mb and that source file was 90Mb/s!
mata7 45 Posted October 13, 2017 Author Posted October 13, 2017 Is there a way to increase the 80 mb cap? Now wiht ultra hd some movies will have higher bit rates
Jdiesel 1431 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Is there a way to increase the 80 mb cap? Now wiht ultra hd some movies will have higher bit rates Change your quality setting from auto to 4K -120Mbps
mata7 45 Posted October 13, 2017 Author Posted October 13, 2017 I change from auto to 100 and that fix it, i dont have 120 option, anyway is there a way to have unlimited what is the reason for having a cap for Thanks
Jdiesel 1431 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 (edited) 120Mbps was probably selected as it is the max allowable under the UHD Bluray standard. Not sure why the Android TV app only goes up to 100Mbps, it should probably be upped to 120Mbps. Edited October 13, 2017 by Jdiesel
