I'm seeing the advanced controls here, however I'm NOT seeing them on my server.  I want to disable access to user preferences.  I'd like to do that for FireTV is that possible?

Next question and onto licensing, is it per fireTv or will that cover all under our user account and prime.

I have pulled down the Emby for Android TV_v1.4.36g_apkpure.com.apk  I can get to smali code

But I want to disable access to user preferences and of course increase search..

Is this capable under the FireTV or is there another way to achieve the same result using FireTV and not using the above app?

Complicated question, if you don't know, that's fine.. but if I'm missing something a heads up would help

You can no longer disable access to user preference, you used to be able to do that, but that basic function was removed by the developers.

Ok that particular option we don't have anymore as over time it has become too complicated.

We are going to restore it to at least restrict access to changing the user profile password & image.

Ok.. it's easy to be a critic I do software for a living.. thanks for the prompt answer

The web interface is the most effective actually and is well done actually (chrome)

I'll look at the apk..

But again thank you for the quick answer

I'd have to hard-code the access???????  Not pretty

Now finally it's per unit on the app cost yes/no?

Not per account..

What do you mean hard-code the access? The app is per google or per amazon account.

and of course increase search..

The Fire TV app breaks search results down by type and returns up to 50 results for each type.  This will typically get you extremely close to what you are looking  for.

I'll buy and see what's there, delta.  In respect to the apk I would decompile modify and push with adblink, I'd LIKE NOT TO.  be nice to have the login information and options able to pull out of the interface, my bet is that if I do the above that I must do so in smali.   To repackage

I set the web interface at Limit=enableScrollX()?384:16

Overall I'm real happy with that, I get it that you are endeavoring to be all things to all devices.  I'm past the matricoms, into really 3rd generation of cutting and have at private residence wired Ethernet, true switch, real hardware, and standard at firetv gen 2.  I'm really looking at the final leg which is POE and cams and the last mile of integration.  I can get it to work under kodi but would be more than willing to go with direct apps.  What I will say positive is that in transitioning the fact that I'm not required to rename and re-org to Plex filename and that the nfo is helpful is good.  I saw the news announcement today ROKU and know that allot of the market should stick to 50.  I'm not here to re-invent a wheel, just getting a sense of what is here and what is not and some of my questions are due to google searches where the feature I'm interested in is no longer available.

But 50 search results?  There is allot of baseball out there on an annual basis that would dwarf that.  Instead of actors "pitchers" or such..

I'll take a peek, see what is there.  Yeah your getting requests to limit the options, as once it is setup correctly there isn't allot to be changed?   Reduce the interface to what is required, nada more.

But again thanks, you would almost think that the Limit=enableScrollX()?384:16 could be a server side of value of 24 and that multiples of 24 could be used that would scroll within the x,y axis of a given device screen??  But I know your focusing on all the people begging you for Roku access and the market dictates what is important not necessarily requests.

I'm not typical I have a Kdlinks HD720 which is a brick essentially now(1st generation), matricoms and nuc 2nd generation with WMC and win7, and again this is my 3rd major iteration and I'm not going back to paid tv.

I wouldn't mid seeing content from another major market if it was family and I was handling the certs and the punch through on ports, I can do a DMZ correctly.

When you consider the app breaks down by type (movies, episodes, shows, people, etc.) 50 per is probably pretty close to the limit you set when it is all one list.

But, if you're looking for a particular baseball game, we have other, organized ways in the interface to get there besides a raw search.

Well, it would depend on exactly how you have them setup.

If they were true TV Series, then they would be organized by season/episode. Given it is baseball, that may not be the case.

If they are Home Videos, you could sort them by date added, or premiere date, and get to where you want presumably that way.

Etc.

that's an approach for top 50 by asc, desc.. but helpful, actually movies, but as you point out another way to refine

If your user community grows, and as time passes, storage gets cheaper, cord-cutting accelerates, people will want to record their own and libraries will grow.

I'd bet there are more than 50 seinfeld episodes

CBS 60 minutes etc..

Yes, but our basic interface gives you ways to get to the one you may be interested in without just having to use a raw search.  e.g. "Next Up" or simply choosing the Series and then a Season.

However, our search features are on the list for a re-vamp.

Thanks.

That is what I want to hear.. actually you guys get search right.. then between play, plex, and emby I'd think maybe two years from now I'll have my son in some other major market hooked to the house and vice-versus over SSL and our having an ability to see two major markets sports.  I would think at that point you have the features most people want and the easiest migration from Kodi (for me anyway) I'm sticking with fireTV, prime, and silcon dust.  I have better search of course with Kodi and that was improved by having .nfo with media.
