I have 2 users on my server that now have random next up season / episodes showing up, here's one example:

Emby Version 3.2.33.0

I've never watched Good Witch, yet it shows up in Next Up on the main screen for S03, E01

When I go in the Good Witch show itself, it shows next up S01 E01, confirming I've never watched it.

Tried:

I did a TV Series metadata refresh, no dice

From researching the issue, I also checked my "Sort Title" in the metadata, found that they were all blank for all 3 seasons, all episodes

Help :)

Side note: The search rules of this site don't allow you to search for "Next Up" forum posts. I also tried "Next", it didn't like that either. I had to google and the results were limited, same with forum tags.

edit: I had left out key info, corrected, sorry

We do this by design.

Agreed for the 2nd print screen.

My 1st print screen shows the problem, is that by design also? You now show a Next Up for a show I never watched, random season?

Ugh, sorry I wasn't clear at all.

Screen 1 shows Next Up on the main screen, Good Witch S03, E01.  I've never watched that show.

Screen 2 shows Next Up on the series for Good Witch as S01, E01.

Is Screen 1 now as designed?

It isn't by design to show S03E01 on Next Up but S01E01 on Series

Series that have never been watched should not show up in Next Up at all.  That is how my server currently works on 3.2.33.0.

no, screen 1 doesn't look right. that's definitely odd. You don't by any chance have two good witch series folders, do you?

assuming not, i would go through each episode in the series and check that they all have season and episode numbers filled out.

Does Emby do all your metadata fetching?  Last time we saw something like this is had to to with Sort Title.

I only have 1 folder that the library looks at, and it only has 1 folder for Good Witch.

I checked every episode, they all have season and episode numbers.

I already also checked for sort title, read that issue from another post, its blank for all of them.

Here's another example from another account on my server, Nashville:

I also checked sort title, episode and season #'s, and confirm only 1 folder.

Yes, emby does all my metadata fetching

Test I just did...I marked the entire Series as watched to see if it would nuke it from the Next Up main screen, refreshed, it's gone, but another show Gilmore Girls took its place as S03, E09. Going to the series page, it shows s01 e01 as next up, and the metadata is clean.

Wen't back to Nashville, unmarked the series as watched and it returned to the next up list, but it "replaced" gilmore gils in the next up list. I didn't do anything to gilmore girls, it just disappeared from the next up list.

There is a display limit so one series can replace another in situations like this.  But it is still figuring out what is causing the issue on your system.

That user only has 6 series in the next up section, far from the limit, it's weird.

Is there something I can delete / rebuild to see if it rectifies this?

@@lal what i would suggest is refreshing the metadata for your series. try doing this for one series using the 3-dot menu from the series detail screen. see if it helps for that individual series, then you can do it for more.

let us know if this helps. thanks.

Can you show the metadata for one of the episodes that show in Next Up incorrectly.

@@lal what do you have in your unset library?
