ateece 2 Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 So I have a strange issue when playing some media. I get audio, but a black screen. However if i pause, switch to another source (for instance Sky Q on HDMI) then switch back the video is paused and on screen. It then plays perfectly. This is with videos that Direct Play. It does not occur with most videos and I cannot spot a pattern from the media info. The files play fine on every other device I have (Amazon FireTV/Chrome browser) An example file is: VideoCodecH264AVCYesProfileMainLevel40Resolution1920x1080Aspect ratio16:9AnamorphicNoInterlacedNoFramerate23.9760246Bitrate3117 kbpsBit depth8 bitPixel formatyuv420pRef frames1NAL4 AudioLanguageengCodecAC3Layout5.1Channels6 chBitrate384 kbpsSample rate48000 HzDefaultYesTitleEng Dolby Digital 5.1 Default SubtitleLanguageengCodecSUBRIPDefaultYesForcedYesExternalNoTitleEnglish (Forced) SubtitleLanguageengCodecSUBRIPDefaultNoForcedNoExternalNoTitleEnglish SubtitleLanguageengCodecSUBRIPDefaultNoForcedNoExternalNoTitleEnglish (SDH) SubtitleLanguagepolCodecSUBRIPDefaultNoForcedNoExternalNoTitlePolish My TV is a Samsung UE49KS9000. Firmware is the latest 1203.6 (from 27 September 2017). I only just updated the firmware in an attempt to fix this as it would seem to be a problem with the TV decoding the file rather than with Emby streaming it.... but I figured i'd start on this forum as I assume Samsung support will be useless! The emby client version is: 1.0.25 from 25/05/2017
Luke 42077 Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Hi, yea if it's direct playing then i'm not really sure. Having said that, 1.0.25 is actually fairly old although it happens to be the latest available for your particular model. We'll be submitting an update for review very soon. Thanks !
FrostByte 5392 Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Have you tried playing the same files having issues using DLNA and do they still show the black screen on your TV?
ateece 2 Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 @Luke: I'll look forward to it. I had to switch to the USA store as i can't get my TV into dev mode - something i need to contact Samsung about as their own guide doesn't seem to cover this model. @FrostByte: Even though this was the 2nd top TV of 2016 it can'd do DLNA. Everything is via Apps.
ateece 2 Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 Update on Developer Mode - it works now! So either it works after I switched regions to USA (to get Emby) or it works since I upgraded firmware. 1
