Seasons in Kodi are mixed up

Hello,

I installed emby-server 3.2.33.0 on Linux Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and the library is working fine in the web-interface as well as in Emby Theater for Windows.

But in a fresh Kodi 16.1 installation and the Emby-addon 2.3.54 the seasons are mixed up:

- (for some series) a "Season -1" appears, selecting it shows all season

- (all series) Season 1 gets the number of the last season, so e.g. the serie contains 9 seasons, season 1 would be displayed as "9. season".

(please see the attached pictures).

- besides that, the other displayed seasons do not show their corresponding seasonxy-poster.jpg.

Anyone has got an idea how to adjust this ?

Make sure your season has proper metadata in the webclient metadata manager. It needs a season number. Share a screenshot of the season metadata in the webclient if you are not sure.

Metadata seem to be alright.
It's not just one series, that is affected by this error, but all series.

I scraped all metadata with TinyMediaManager.

the season is missing the season number because we don't recognize the "1.staffel" name. that's something we can look at supporting though.

Look at the season in your second screenshot. It does not have a number.

@@Angelblue05, you are right, there is no number for the seasons, because TinyMediaManager creates nfo-files for the TV show and for each episode, but not for the seasons. But that's in accordance with the guidelines of Kodi: http://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files/tvshows. Kodi doesn't need this information resp. extracts it from the subfolder names.

Surprisingly Emby itself doesn't need this information mandatory, at least everything is displayed fine in Emby Theater.

@Luke: Would be great if you could add this functionality to Emby.

Adding some regex-functionality to analyse the folder name (e.g. Season 01, Season 1, 01. Season, 1. Season, S1 etc.)

the season is missing the season number because we don't recognize the "1.staffel" name. that's something we can look at supporting though.

The issue is the server doesn't always fill in the season number. That's an issue for Kodi.

In Kodi, it has it's own detection, but the addon only ports over emby metadata. Without season numbers, weird things happens to ordering. Previously, the addon was skipping importing problematic content like that. I changed that by adding a default season number value -1, so you can spot the issue more easily.
