jmassaro87 28 Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 I recently bought a new tv, the 65MU8000, i believe a 2017 Samsung model? I installed the app from the store and the intial few movies i had a great experience. The video quality was superior to my computer. Tried watching a few movies today, the 1st one played about 5 minutes, then the loading "bar" spinning circle appeared. sat for a few minutes, so i switched back to the PC. gave it another go on a different movie later in the evening, and same thing happened. I would prefer to use the app since the video is awesome but direct from pc is reliable. any ideas?
SamES 1057 Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Can you please post a server log with times of failed playback? Thanks
jmassaro87 28 Posted October 9, 2017 Author Posted October 9, 2017 Here are the 2 logs. First issued happened between 3:30pm and 4pm. the second happened around 9:30pm-10pm server-63643009110.txt server-63642987012.txt
Luke 42078 Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 There isn't really an obvious problem here. I wonder if the bitrates of the videos are just too high for the network connection to sustain. Can you try going into app settings, and setting the max streaming bitrate to something around 3 mbps? This will cause transcoding on the server to occur. If it plays successfully then you can gradually raise it. Let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Do we still think that may be the issue if both movies play fine on my iOS app? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
jmassaro87 28 Posted October 10, 2017 Author Posted October 10, 2017 Yes, because it's a different device. Where are the app settings to change bitrate? I went into the settings from the app and didn’t see anywhere to change it. It did also tell me no network 3 times in a row then started playing fine. The tv is 3 feet from an access point and we use it with YouTube and Netflix over WiFi without issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Luke 42078 Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Click the user icon in the top right, then go to settings -> playback.
jmassaro87 28 Posted October 10, 2017 Author Posted October 10, 2017 Click the user icon in the top right, then go to settings -> playback. I will check again, i did that and did not see playback as an option. Also, i assume there is an update on the way to clean up the app? there is a lot of raw "code" type text throughout on buttons and in areas that should read data from the video files.
Luke 42078 Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 That's resolved for the next update, thanks.
jmassaro87 28 Posted October 16, 2017 Author Posted October 16, 2017 I think that was it. I am going to hard wire the tv at some point, but I easily brought it up to 40mbps without and issue. May try a little higher, but it’s workin consistently so may just leave it until I’m ready to hardware. Thanks Luke. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
