stratumorien 10 Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Almost everything I play transcodes... where almost everything in my library at one time used to direct play... Playback even though transcoding keeps spntaneously going dark (black) or freezes requiring user to exit playback and restart... Attached are logs from this evening. server_log.txt transcode1.txt transcode2.txt transcode3.txt transcode4.txt transcode5.txt
stratumorien 10 Posted October 7, 2017 Author Posted October 7, 2017 My wife described starting... freezing... restarting <repeat> hence logs are spams of the same 'curious George file'
Luke 42078 Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 This is android tv. Looking at one example it tried to direct play but the player reported an error with the file so it automatically switched to transcoding. If you can go through the process to submit an in-app log then @@ebr can offer some insight. You can learn how to do that here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks.
stratumorien 10 Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 Thanks, I haven't had time to address this but reproduced the app crashes. yesterday between 3pm and 3:30pm Eastern time I sent two logs via Android TV app. Playback of some media is causing Emby app to crash "Emby is not responding". Thanks in advance @@ebr
ebr 16174 Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 yesterday between 3pm and 3:30pm Eastern time I sent two logs via Android TV app. Hi, can you please provide: Then add the following information to your report in the forum: Exactly what you were doing and what happened. Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem The time you sent the log The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time Thanks.
stratumorien 10 Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 Playing a .avi video DuckTales. Between 3 and 3:30pm 10/14. Local user logged was TV I can repeat today if you need specific time or can't find log
mastrmind11 722 Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Try renaming the file to .mp4. AVI's are problematic in general.
ebr 16174 Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Playing a .avi video DuckTales. Between 3 and 3:30pm 10/14. Local user logged was TV I can repeat today if you need specific time or can't find log The player is throwing an out of memory error. Do you have a lot of other apps going at the same time?
stratumorien 10 Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 No, only app running. Nvidia Shield is main family room TV client. all it runs... Doesn't happen with other videos. .mkv etc. I feel some media I should just re-encode for more friendly playback. However in the situation of crash, figure just report. Bri
