HDHR extend as preferred Tuner

I have just purchased a HDHR Extend that will encode h.264 on the device instead of using cpu.  I will still have 2 other HDHR Connects that do not support this feature.

 

Is there a way to force Emby to use the HDHR Extend as the preferred tuner and only select the HDHR Connects when the extend is not available?
On SageTV there is a concept call Tuner Merit that allows you to rank your preferred tuner.  Anything similar on Emby?

No, but it's a good idea for the future. For now you can just remove all your tuners and add them back, making sure to add the new one first.

I had asked this some time ago and received this reply:

 

Emby sorts the tuners by IP address - so if you want to have them used in a specific order just assign a lower fixed IP to the one you want to use first.  For example:

 

Tuner 1 - 192.168.0.10

Tuner 2 - 192.168.0.11

 

AFAIK there is no way to manually order the tuner priority - maybe a feature request?

I never gave that response and I have never tested that kind of ordering with IP address so I really cannot comment on that.

Well clearly it wasn't your words   , that's why I asked if that was even correct?

I just wanted to sort information that is searchable, and that was a response I received for this kind of feature request almost a year ago at this point.

 

If new one first gets priority, then that is the confirmed answer.
