joshyz73 0 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I'm not seeing any way to correct this, so hopefully someone has an idea. I have a series on my Emby server that IMDB has the wrong episode order for. THETVDB and TVMaze have it right/the same, however Emby looks to get the order from IMDB only. That causes the naming to be wrong in Emby, and have the wrong descriptions for the episodes. Interesting though, the images grabbed/available are the ones that would apply to the episode that it should be. As an example: Right order: Episode 10 - Ep10Name - Ep10 images Episode 11 - Ep11Name - Ep11 images Episode 12 - Ep12Name - Ep12 images IMDB order: Episode 10 - Ep12Name - Ep10 images Episode 11 - Ep10Name - Ep11 images Episode 12 - Ep11Name - Ep12 images Is there a way to use another source/scraper as the primary one for just this one series?
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Emby does not use IMDB as a data source at all.
joshyz73 0 Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 Emby does not use IMDB as a data source at all. Okay... Yet Emby shows IMDB ratings and info. I know it gets it through the OMDB. However, even OMDB shows the proper episode order. The only source I can find that has the wrong order is IMDB, so it has to be reading that somehow. I also even tried removing OMBD as a source for series and episodes, it made no effect.

Nope, it does not read IMDB at all. For TV the primary sources are TVDB and TMDB. I'd look at the episode naming on TVDB and match that. I name my TV show episodes <Show title, matching TVDB> S<number>E<number> <Episode title, matching TVDB>.<file extension>, so, for example, Archer (2009) S06E08 The Kanes.mkv. That gets me a consistent match to the TVDB data. If I then want to reorder the episodes to DVD order or something I edit the metadata as needed by hand and lock it.
joshyz73 0 Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 That's how mine are named. The problem has nothing to do with the actual episode names and all other series are just fine. It's that one of the metadata/scraper sources has the wrong episode order (and the only place I can find the wrong order is IMDB), and that is what is being used as the order in Emby. TVDB, OMDB, and TVMaze are all correct, and my files are named to match the order/names on those sources.
joshyz73 0 Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 Looks like I got it corrected. I disabled all metadata downloaders except for TVDB, and then refreshed the metadata on the series I had issue with. It then pulled proper order. I'll have to re-enable the downloaders one at a time to see which is the issue for me.
Luke 42088 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 in the server dashboard go to library -> metadata, select Series, then change the metadata provider order to put tvdb at the top.
