daniel.bmyer 11 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I've got the passthrough working but I usually prefer the software to do the decoding of the audio such as DTS HD MA and send to my receiver as PCM. I don't see anything in the Settings for this. Is this possible with ET?
Luke 42085 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Hi, yes just uncheck the passthrough options and then they will be decoded in-app. Does that answer your question?
daniel.bmyer 11 Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 (edited) I figured out why. I had my windows control panel speakers set to 2. Once I changed it to 5.1 it was fine. I did a few tests and all my movies seem to be stuttering when playing. That's never happened before and I use JRiver with Red October HIgh Quality Edited October 5, 2017 by daniel.bmyer
Luke 42085 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Hard to say exactly but without pass-though you are asking the machine to do more work to decode the audio. Why not just let is passthrough? What's the reason for that?
daniel.bmyer 11 Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 I've always read that letting the software decode is better especially with timings between sound and video. Anyhow I figured it out. Under Video for Hardware Acceleration I had it on Auto. Changed it to DXVA2 (windows) seems to have fixed it. Not really sure what all the diff modes are. I'll have to do some reading but it as long as it works. This is resolved.
