Chyron 256 Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 I am recent Plexile who is new to Emby, and I now have Plex and Emby both running on the same server. However, I've noticed that my current method of storing special features and such for Plex doesn't work well in Emby. https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200220677-Local-Media-Assets-Movies Is there a way for me to store featurettes and stuff on my server and have both Plex and Emby automatically correctly see it? Is there a way to manually combine an erroneously labelled featurette in Emby with its corresponding film?

Chyron 256 Posted October 4, 2017 Author Posted October 4, 2017 Ah. Good, I guess. Plex claims to support (almost) the same folder structure, but I found it was better at using the supported filename structure instead so I was using that. 1
Luke 42077 Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 What problem exactly are you having with specials? we support most of the same ones. thanks.
Chyron 256 Posted October 4, 2017 Author Posted October 4, 2017 I once used /moviename/featurettes/videoname.m4v But Plex sometimes didn't associate said video with the movie correctly; whereas the alternate /moviename/videoname-featurette.m4v work correctly. Which means I need to reorganize them and just do the Plex Dance if I have issues.
camerons 12 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Yeah, I had a few (luckily not many) with the flat structure (nameofextra-featurette.mp4) and they got added as their own separate titles. Im actually fixing them right now.
Luke 42077 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 We already support the featurettes sub-folder. As for {movie}-featurette.mkv, we can add that for the next release, thanks. 1

Are you adding the whole list then? As I would see this being a issue with potentially all of them. Where -Extra_Type is one of: -behindthescenes -deleted -featurette -interview -scene -short Edited October 5, 2017 by Happy2Play

Okay, just I have to say, I am EXTREMELY impressed by your responsiveness. I mean, you could have just said "yeah, you need to use this formatting"; but instead you say "umm... okay, we'll add support for that formatting in the next update." Fantastic. I mean. Amazing support around here. Seriously. In any case, according to this page on Plex: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200220677-Local-Media-Assets-Movies the naming conventions they use for "Inline extras" are: -behindthescenes -deleted -featurette -interview -scene -short -trailer Again, wow. Thank you. EDIT: ninja'd Edited October 5, 2017 by chyron8472 1

Chyron 256 Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 (edited) Yeah, get used to it. Almost all requests receive an answer but also be aware that the developers here are somewhat like various deities in that they always answer but sometimes the answer is no. But that is why many people are moving to Emby from Plex. Plex is extremely hush hush about their current projects, to the point that many users felt ignored, especially regarding bugfixes (like music playback freezing on Android) or simple feature requests (like audiobook support in general or nested movie collections) that were many months or even years old. And then they come out with a not-disableable streaming News Feed that no one asked for. Better a "no" than stone silence. But I didn't get a "no." I got a "hey, we'll get right on that." I'd never get that over there. Kudos. Really. Edited October 5, 2017 by chyron8472
Luke 42077 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Ok, we'll add -short as well, thanks. The others we should already support.
