Cache Images

I just installed Emby Server on my Unraid Server via the docker.  I've also installed Emby Theater on my HTPC.  I was wondering if it's possible to create cache images of all my movies, tv shows, and music images on my htpc?  I find that browsing the server from my HTPC is too slow for my tastes.  Does Emby build a cache image as I enter a movie, or tv show?

Hi, yes it does this automatically. There is nothing you need to do. As the cache builds up, performance will improve. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !

I'm not sure the cache is working...I have a number of issues.

 

1.  I go to the Emby Server at http://192.168.x.xx:8096/web/library.html on my laptop and created my libraries and imported all my music and movies.  Emby server was installed on my unraid server via docker.  Then from there I clicked the Home button on the top left hand corner and it takes me to a display view of my Music, Movies, etc.

 

From there I created some movie collections.  I can click the Collections button and see my Movie Collections.  Everything comes up quickly.

 

When I go to my HTPC and load up Emby Theater, wow does it take forever to load my movies and music.  I had to walk away for awhile before it showed the movie art and music art.  When I click Movies and then Collections, the screen remains blank.  However, under All Movies, I can see my Collections and click on them..although they load slowly.  

 

I closed Emby Theater, then a little while later started it up again.  Same thing, still really slow to load and still my movie collections doesn't show...went back to my laptop and went to the server, and they come up....

 

2.  Music - when I go to EMby Theater, when I click on Artists, it's different then when doing it from the Emby Server.  Somehow Artists on Emby Theater is equal to Album Artists on the Server and Album Artists on Emby Theater are equal to Artists on the server

 

Help!  What the heck is going on?

Well the images now seem to appear.  Maybe they were just building....Let me play around with this now and see if it continues to work as is.

 

Still not sure about the reversal of Artist and Album Artist.  That just seems odd.

One other question.  When using ET, I notice that when I click on Movies, I get a number of boxes, such as a main movie, below that All Movies, then to the left Collection, then to the right of that some recent movies.  All show images except for the Collections box, it just shows a collections icon  I would have thought it would just grab some cover art from the movies that are part of Collections.  But I guess not.  Am I missing something?  Is there a way to get it to show movie art?

No that's just the way we designed it. it probably should be changed to show a random collection.
