I've got Emby running on my Synology NAS. I have Kodi on multiple windows and Android devices working with the Emby plug in. I can not get the Kodi Plugin working on wife's Mac.

Here are my settings.

Path Substitution in Emby:

Kodi can connect to the SMB share:

But i keep getting this error:

The path in the error looks correct. I don't know why Kodi can navigate to folders, but when the addon does the scan it can not connect. My knowledge on Macs is 0 so I've got no idea where to even start.

If it's not obvious I'm trying to use direct paths.

Kodi > addons > install from zip. Navigate to the folder via smb, does Kodi have access? Does the path match?

Yea it all looks fine to me.

quick update, i can manually add the smb share by going to "add network location" on kodi. If i go direclty to "Windows Network (SMB)" i keep getting the error, "Error 2: share not available".

I should have mentioned i'm on Kodi 17.4. The Mac is V 10.11.6

What do you mean by go directly to Windows Network (SMB)? What was the previous screenshot of if not you accessing smb that way?

Is it always the same title referred in the error, or is it different every time?

So, if you look at the attached file, If I try to use the highlighted option i get the error, "Error 2: Share not available".

If i simply go to the bottom and use "Add netlocation..." then i'm able to manually type in the name of the server and connect using SMB. I don't know why one way works and the other doesn't.

Ok, so i was playing with this some more... It seems like changing the path substitution from "rackstation" to "Rackstation" with a capital "R" fixed the issue.

Great info, was it the network path on the server that was all in lowercase?

yes. I had the path substitution in Emby as //rackstation/movies updating to //Rackstation/movie seems to have fixed everything.
