TV Episode metadata file format?

Start of the hockey season, and I'm trying to automate adding metadata for the episodes I've recorded and transcoded off of WMC.

 

A while back (like a few years ago), I used to be able to dump an XML file with the episode information in the same place as the episode and Media Browser/emby would pick it up and populate the data.

 

I just tried with a new game I recorded and it doesn't seem to work any more.

 

Is there a specific format I need to put the XML file in before it'll be picked up properly?

hi @revenant, this is a legacy format now. In order to use xml you need to install the xml metadata plugin. i would suggest instead using .nfo metadata.

Ah, OK.  I'll go install the plug in.  And I modified my tool to generate nfo files now for future episodes.
