syplex 4 Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 We both have the same problem because we are both using the native Apple player, which comes with it's own set of benefits and limitations. This is where you have a conundrum. You need to drop the bitrate to something the Apple player can handle, but you're having a hard time doing that because your NAS can't transcode it well enough to actually do that. Are you aware of a problem with the Apple native player that would cause this? Or do you need help trying to narrow this down so a bug report can be filed with them? Note: The NAS transcodes it correctly and seems to have enough power to do it. The problem is making Emby transcode the problem movies without killing the quality. Right now if I use maximum bitrate to control this, movies with lower bitrates won’t be transcoded, and will have this problem. So I have to set the bitrate to very low which defeats the whole purpose of full rate blu ray rips. A good workaround until the Apple TV player “issue” is fixed would be to have an option to transcode everything at the exact same bitrate as the source file, as the bitrate doesn’t appear to be related to the issue at all (I have much higher bitrate movies that don’t have this problem).

The apple player is just not built for full bluray rips, that is the issue. We are interested in embedding a custom player but that will take time.
kidfrostbite 0 Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I've noticed that the last 5 or 6 beta builds posted on Github don't have QNAP .qpkg builds available - does that mean that check-ins after the 3.2.70.6-beta are for other platforms? I'm not experiencing any particular issues with 3.2.70.6, just curious.
Luke 42077 Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 QNAP releases have to be built manually on a QNAP device so we won't be publishing every beta for it. Generally only when there is something QNAP-specific that needs testing. 1

Luke 42077 Posted February 24, 2018 Author Posted February 24, 2018 The first post has been updated with the new 3.3 stable release. Now that we've resolved the https crashing, we're ready to put this up on the website for the general audience. Thanks everyone.
Quiptix 2 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Are there any release notes about version 3.3 ?

Quiptix 2 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Announcement is on the way up. I found the release notes on Github, however I do not find all the new options, like subtitle control and the newly added provider or are these hidden, non-controllable features?

Thanks everyone. Thanks Luke, I’ve just installed and have noticed that the version number in the Emby Server Dashboard still reports as version 3.2.70.6 beta. In qnap app center it’s reporting as 3.3. Cheers, Brad. Edit: All sorted now, a restart of the server from the emby control panel did it. PenkethBoy 2068 Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 my Emby dashboard reports 3.3.0.0 - also upgraded from 70.6

Thanks, I had tried stopping and starting emby from the Qnap Application Center which didn’t help but restarting from within the emby server control panel did it. Cheers. somy 25 Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Announcement is on the way up. Hi Luke, Are you still looking into the HTTPS client certificate issue? It is quite annoying to get a pop-up every time when opening Emby webpage. Thanks!
Luke 42077 Posted March 2, 2018 Author Posted March 2, 2018 It's resolved for the next release, thanks. 1
somy 25 Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 It's resolved for the next release, thanks. Great! Thanks a lot!
Luke 42077 Posted March 5, 2018 Author Posted March 5, 2018 The build in the first post has been updated with the 3.3.1 stable release. Thanks guys.
Rew452 15 Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 (edited) I have to say after using 3.30 and 3.31 on my Qnap 873 with 28tb and Shield ATV as client for the past week has been been the best I have seen! I am getting 80mbs constant transfers and all of the newer sound formats without any tinkering. Library has over 680 entries. My playback system consists of: Vizio P75-c1 Denon AVR-x4300h Shield ATV Netgear 1gb switches Previously I used a WHS and latter Win 10 as server and it was OK but always seemed to have issues with playback depending on the client. Which is not to say they were bad but my Emby system had grown over the years and who knows what issues were real and were just from legacy updating. Tried Plex and it definitely does not compare with Emby. Luke, Thanks so much for your excellent work! Please keep it up. Rew Edited March 6, 2018 by Rew452
MischaBoender 5 Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Installed this package this morning, but it seems to have an issue connection to the internet. A "curl https://mb3admin.com"(or trakt.tv or emby.media) from an SSH session to the Qnap works without issues. Any clue what the root cause could be?
alucryd 315 Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 (edited) The package should have created a symlink for the ca-certificates.crt file. I'll investigate. Are you using the latest version of Qnap's OS? Edited March 6, 2018 by alucryd
MischaBoender 5 Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 I installed Emby and restored a backup from my other Emby server running on Ubuntu. After the library sync I also updated my QNAP. So at the time of install it was not the latest QNAP OS, although it would not be a very old version.
