mbc0 68 Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 Okay everything is being named the same do to the parser stopping at the year in file name. It is providing a image for the filename not Display name/Title when uploaded .So editing one item is not providing a image for say everything named "WRT" ot "BTCC". There is no way around custom images for each episode as they are individual items with different names. Ok, so the two issues of all my individual files being displayed as the same title and the spoiler thumbnailis being created is unavoidable with nothing in the pipeline to resolve this?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Besides renaming (removing year) and turning off screen grabber on the library unfotunately, nothing else that I am aware of.
mbc0 68 Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 Removing the year is doable but the screengrabber will affect all my libraries not just my motorsport library?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Everything defined in that Library yes.
mbc0 68 Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 So are you saying I can disable screengrabber for a specific library? if so then that would be perfect but I cannot see how to turn off screengrabber without it affecting my other libraries?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Sorry I was thinking library options but that is a metadata option. So unfortunately it would affect all of that content type. Unless @@Luke has any ideas at blocking images at episode level, it doesn't look like there is a way to do this.
mbc0 68 Posted October 9, 2017 Author Posted October 9, 2017 Ok, I guess from the lack of response that @@Luke Does not have any ideas... Just so I know where to go from here, is the fact that I cannot have a sport library without spoiler thumbnails something that will never be addressed? I did ask the same thing a couple of years ago so just wondering if the situation will change at all? Many Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 I need to set up a similar library and work through it, and i just haven't done that yet. actually if you could help by setting up an identical folder structure except with tiny mp4 video files, that would be helpful. and then just zip that up. thanks.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 Overall the issue is episode level Screen Grab spoilers. It is easy to set static folder level poster.jpgs but to much work to set static images for every episode. Since episode thumbs are by name there is no easy way to set static images for every episode. This situation would require a option to block Screen Grab for specific Library were there is only options for global by content type..

Or he could have deleted all episode images, disabled screen grabber and just put a thumb image on the season folder? Because not only could he have done that now, he could have also done that two years ago. I thought we were trying to investigate a defect here, but it sounds like maybe there isn't one.

Lots of work for say 100-1000+ episodes, but yes. The issue with disabling Screen grabber is it is Global so it would affect other Home Videos/Photo content type libraries also.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 And what about my second option? Or he could have deleted all episode images, disabled screen grabber and just put a thumb image on the season folder? Yes this works, but back to Screen Grabber is Global so it would affect other Home Videos/Photo content type libraries also.

Do you mean manually? would I not see the automatically generated thumbnail spoiler in that process? I record sports events and download others to watch when I can (a lot of the time away from home so no access to the server) and I would see the spoiler thumbnails before manually changing it?
mbc0 68 Posted October 9, 2017 Author Posted October 9, 2017 let me know if you still want the folder example...
Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 @@Luke mbeo basically wants a spoiler option that hides episode thumb and overview for all episodes. I woulds say similar to the Anti-Spoilers feature in ET. As for doing this manually, you can easily do this without ever looking in Emby. Open episode folder and place a same named episode image of your choice there for each episode.
Luke 42077 Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 let me know if you still want the folder example... No that's OK thanks. It sounds like we need a feature request topic. Your workaround in the meantime would be disabling screen grabber and deleting existing episode images.
Luke 42077 Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 @@mbc0 has this answered your question? There was still an issue about display titles, right?
mbc0 68 Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 Hi Luke, yes there is still an issue with display titles as they automatically generate a spoiler image, but as Happy2Play says there is nothing I can do about this without affecting my other libraries.
mbc0 68 Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 I confused the terminology, Display Titles = Yes, all files are displayed as the same title, (like below everything is displayed as Formula 1 even though the files are not)
Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 This is a separate issue from the images. But it is do to the naming scheme with year so the parser stops at year and makes Formula1 the TITLE.
Luke 42077 Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 Is this a fresh server installation, or your old one from two years ago that has been upgraded?
Luke 42077 Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 Never mind, i see the titles issue. it's resolved for the next release, although the changes won't affect existing titles already imported into the library. thanks.
mbc0 68 Posted October 12, 2017 Author Posted October 12, 2017 That's fantastic! thank you!! that is half the battle! :-) it is a fresh installation which is a massive improvememt from a few years ago, if I can find a way around the spoiler thumbnails then I can shut down Plex! Thanks for addressing this Luke :-)
