fbrassin 47 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Is there a way to increase buffer. I ask this because i use a remote folder mounted in my ubuntu and i have my movies stopping and starting often. Or shall i modify any other option to adjust this? Tnx
Luke 42077 Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 hi there @@fbrassin, can we please look at an example of a problem? can you please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue? thanks !
fbrassin 47 Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 I paste all the log of the day, i hope it is ok. I started to watch 2 episodes and a movie around 21.20 and another at about 22.55. Both times playing, stopped for some times, start, than stopped, than start and so on. Actually i don't know if the problem is the network or the transcoding. If it can help, using plex it doesn't stop. I've used plex for long but now i'm evaluating go with emby. Please tell me if my log is ok or if i have to add something. https://paste2.org/dz83nIZf
fbrassin 47 Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 I made a more specific test today, with just 1 play. I saw it was transcoded, and i thing the problem is the time my server is taking transcoding. With plex i never had problems in transcoding. I'm using ATV4, is there a way to force direct play, or optimize transcoding not to have this problem? Here is the log, from when i strated my emby app on ATV4 to when i turned it off. Luke 42077 Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Now that you have a new ffmpeg build, can you please try this again? thanks !
fbrassin 47 Posted September 30, 2017 Author Posted September 30, 2017 Now with the new ffmpeg i have direct stream instead of transcode. All seems to be ok now. Tnx so much. Do you know what can be happened?
Luke 42077 Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Not sure, the ffmpeg version should not have changed directstream vs. transcode. Perhaps you changed the in-app quality setting. That's about all I can think of.
