fbrassin 47 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 I've just begun using emby and i have this situation. Each Movie or tv show i play on the screen appears "subtitles loading..." and never goes away. How can i do to have subtitles without this? Tnx
Luke 42077 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Hi @@fbrassin, we extract subtitles on the fly and sometimes this takes a little while. Can you please attach the emby server log? you can learn how to do that here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks !
fbrassin 47 Posted September 28, 2017 Author Posted September 28, 2017 Here is the log. I hope it is ok. https://paste2.org/w146eX28
Luke 42077 Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 @@fbrassin can you please attach the complete emby server, from the beginning? thanks !
fbrassin 47 Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 Opps, sorry. Here is the log of all the day: https://paste2.org/dz83nIZf I hope it is ok what i posted. I started to watch 2 episodes and a movie around 21.20 and another at about 22.55.
fbrassin 47 Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 I made a more specific test today, with just 1 play. Here is the log, from when i strated my emby app on ATV4 to when i turned it off. Always with "subtitles loading..." https://paste2.org/9H74m4Yx
Luke 42077 Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 If you delete this folder /var/lib/emby-server/ffmpeg/20160215 then start emby server, it will attempt to download a newer version of ffmpeg. if that download fails it will ask you to do it manually in the startup wizard. you could try to see if that helps. if the subtitles extraction still fails, then i can help you disable extraction altogether and just burn the subtitles in with transcoding. thanks.
fbrassin 47 Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 OK, now i don't have that message anymore. I don't know if subtitles work. Do you think so? In /var/lib/emby-server/ffmpeg now i have folder 20170308 I have to find a movie where subtitles will come out.
Luke 42077 Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 @@fbrassin please let us know how this goes. thanks.
fbrassin 47 Posted October 1, 2017 Author Posted October 1, 2017 It has happened once again. Today watching a tv show "subtitles loading..." arrived and never gone away. Here is the log. Any other idea? https://paste2.org/ICdcB6wy
Luke 42077 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Yes go to server transcoding settings and uncheck the box to allow on the fly subtitle extraction.
fbrassin 47 Posted October 1, 2017 Author Posted October 1, 2017 OK, i unchecked it, but i still have that message. Here is the log: https://paste2.org/098DdBC6
fbrassin 47 Posted October 1, 2017 Author Posted October 1, 2017 Here it is https://paste2.org/9AKzVVfp
Luke 42077 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Are you sure you unchecked the right box? Did you click save afterwards? Can you show a screenshot? Thanks.
fbrassin 47 Posted October 1, 2017 Author Posted October 1, 2017 Yes i've saved. Here is the screenshot
Luke 42077 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 In post #12 are you sure you posted the right server log? because the ffmpeg log from post #14 does not match up with that server log. Can you try this again and then post both logs together? thanks.
fbrassin 47 Posted October 1, 2017 Author Posted October 1, 2017 Well, i've done i new test. I have two ATV4. With the one in my bedroom it worked right. Then i tried the second one and i have the problem of "subtitles loading ..." But i don't know why. This is the ffmpeg of the ATV4 where i don't have the problem: https://paste2.org/tfzFKkPw This is the one where i have the problem https://paste2.org/bP1ZaH7a And this is the server log. The episode i tried is House of Cards.S05E08 https://paste2.org/eF8ZY3LJ
fbrassin 47 Posted October 2, 2017 Author Posted October 2, 2017 I tried to restart the ATV4 where i had the problem of subtitles and now it is ok. Maybe it had something remaining in cache or something like that?
