Spaceboy 2573 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 (edited) Hi, I've written about this before. When there are two episodes of the same show on the same day the Android TV app lists them in reverse order. The picture that i will attach below shows the detail from the season level view. The 7-7.30 episode is shown to the right of the 8-8.30 episode which as can be seen is recording. The first episode is labelled part 1 but its in the wrong place. the effect is that if i played the next up episode i'm going to get the second not the first. and the end result is an unhappy girlfriend. can this be fixed please Edited September 28, 2017 by Spaceboy 1
maegibbons 1287 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Ah Yes. Thats the "Find the next Emmerdale to watch game". We play that a lot too!! I assume it shows it as the same episode info for BOTH episodes for you to? Was going to raise this later this week too - once ebr had fixed my HD Recording issues AND done "Stats for Nerds" Glad youve started the ball rolling! Krs Mark
maegibbons 1287 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 For me they are chronologically in the wrong order going down the episodes. i.e the most recent recording for the same date is shown 1st in the list - it should be last They are tagged as the same episode. Regardless of that the latest recording should be shown last. Krs Mrk.
maegibbons 1287 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Not sure it adds much - the last episode recorded is the 1 second from bottom Krs Mark
maegibbons 1287 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 what are the filenames? Top \\194.xx.xx.xx\Multimedia\Videos\Recordings\Series\Emmerdale\Emmerdale 2017-09-28-1.ts Bottom \\194.xx.xx.xx\Multimedia\Videos\Recordings\Series\Emmerdale\Emmerdale 2017-09-28.ts Krs Mark
ebr 16183 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 This is consistent in both web app and Android TV, correct?
maegibbons 1287 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 (edited) Yes - but it is logically the wrong order in both Krs Marj Edited September 28, 2017 by maegibbons
Spaceboy 2573 Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 how do they look in the web app?theres no comparable view in the web app for live tv series. Within the recordings section of live tv web app they just display in recorded order, so fine
Spaceboy 2573 Posted November 2, 2017 Author Posted November 2, 2017 theres no comparable view in the web app for live tv series. Within the recordings section of live tv web app they just display in recorded order, so fine So this still seems to be an issue. Is the problem understood?
Luke 42078 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 I made a change several server releases ago. Can you please discuss a new example? thanks.
maegibbons 1287 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Yes it certainly was fixed for me. Have not checked recently. Krs Mark
paulsalter 84 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Not checked mine for a while, got into the habit of renaming the second one with S/E numbers as they both showed as the 1st episode I dont have one to test at the moment, already deleted last nights But wondering what file naming needs to be used to get this to work (this naming is perfect for daily shows where there is one per day) Emmerdale - 2017.03.10 - 19-00-00.ts Emmerdale - 2017.03.10 - 20-00-00.ts These are how mine get named, should these be ok now? It's nearly a week till the double episodes to test again

paulsalter 84 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Thanks Luke I will leave alone next time i record double episodes and hopefully all will be good
Spaceboy 2573 Posted November 3, 2017 Author Posted November 3, 2017 I made a change several server releases ago. Can you please discuss a new example? thanks. the show is Emmerdale. its on twice on Thursdays at 7 and 8pm. what i see now is that on both the web app and android tv both episodes are identified as Part 1 and Part 2 is missing. Currently they are listed in the right order the earlier one to the left. In windows explorer i can see that Part 2 has the same file name but with a -1 before the extension.
Spaceboy 2573 Posted November 4, 2017 Author Posted November 4, 2017 Great, thanks for confirming.so we are in agreement that this is still not quite working properly?
maegibbons 1287 Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Hi @@Luke The order is now correct but the episode lookup is not. The Part2 still gets tagged as Part1 The show info in the guide shows correctly as different episodes but once recorded they get tagged as exactly the same episode despite having different filenames. Krs Mark 1
Luke 42078 Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 have you checked the guide data? we name the files with exactly the information that is in the guide data. thanks.
Spaceboy 2573 Posted November 5, 2017 Author Posted November 5, 2017 have you checked the guide data? we name the files with exactly the information that is in the guide data. thanks. well obviously it is too late to look at last thursdays episodes but next week there are two episodes on Thursday again. the episodes have different descriptions but there are no episode and series numbers evident from what i see in emby. but they are there when they appear in the recording library. this is schedules direct epg.
paulsalter 84 Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Same with any date based shows that air more than one episode daily (eg Coronation Street airs 2 Eps on a Mon/Wed/Fri) Looks like when it does a match with tvdb, it just picks up the first occurrence of the date and uses those details Episode numbers are not used by the broadcaster so the only data we have is aired date Emmerdale on tvdb 1
