hatflix 0 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Hi All. Long time Plex user and (very) new to Emby. I have noticed that when I perform any action, for example, add a library, it does not immediately show on the dashboard for the manage server. I either have to wait or perhaps a server restart makes it show up. I have noticed this weird behavior with metadata. I edit the metadata, save, and it does not. Even after restart I cannot get the changes to take. I want to love Emby, but I am finding this painful. Is this normal? Server Version: Version 3.2.32.0 OS: Windows Server 2016 Browser: Internet Explorer Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks, Philip

hatflix 0 Posted September 28, 2017 Author Posted September 28, 2017 Attached is the most recent log file. I added my wife as a User "April". After returning to the users page and even refreshing, she does not show up. This was around 8:25. I was generating chapter thumbnails - but the library scan appears complete. CPU usage is low so I am not sure that I am trying to do too much at one. Philip
hatflix 0 Posted September 28, 2017 Author Posted September 28, 2017 Oops . . . forgot to hit "attach this file" server-63642098773.txt
mastrmind11 722 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Oops . . . forgot to hit "attach this file" That log is from yesterday morning, and the server was still scanning your library, which would explain the delay. Check your log from today and see what it's doing.
hatflix 0 Posted September 28, 2017 Author Posted September 28, 2017 Here it is. server-63642181489.txt
mastrmind11 722 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Here it is. It was still scanning when you created April, and the server returned a 404. It appears it finished all it's work shortly after that. I'd try again now that things have settled down.
Luke 42085 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 I can reproduce but the issue is limited to Internet Explorer. We'll look at it for a future update. For a better experience, consider using a modern browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Opera, or Microsoft Edge. Thanks !

For a better experience, consider using a modern browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Opera, or Microsoft Edge. Thanks ! I thought that could be it. I checked Chrome, but perhaps the server was just too busy at the time that I did not notice a difference. I will say, Server 2016 does not come with Edge and it cannot be installed. A poor choice on Microsoft's part for sure, but I had hoped to keep the server as clean as possible. Oh well and thanks for the help.
