I have a weird problem

An album in my music folder has been added to my movie collections?  I have no idea why.

My movie folders and music folders are in different paths.

If i go to my movies folder and select collections on the top of the page I have 1 more item than if I go into the collections folder I have enabled on the main screen.  The item in question is this album.

Ie If i select collections from Movies>All Suggestions Trailers Favourites 'Collections'

I have 1 more collection than the collections folder I enabled at the My Media / Home screen,

How can I remove it from here without deleting it? - rescanning doesn't seem to help.

Many thanks

click the context menu, the icon over your cover art with the three dots, and choose Remove From Collection when in the collection view.

There is no Remove from collection in any view for this item

Inside the folder each individual item has remove from collection, but is does exactly NOTHING!

So I am at a loss, if I check each file it shows thay are mp3's and they are in my music directory.  This collection is my movies in a totally different location.

Weird thing is they are not in collections folder enabled on the home screen, just the collections inside the movie folder.

Collections are a collective of all collections the server sees no matter what library they reside in.  That is one complaints everyone has as they are not viewed by specific library.

Only way for collections to be visible in Collections is the presents of a collection.xml.  Does the file exist in the media you say shouldn't be there?

The file is music , an album in my music folder - its showing as a movie collection with no cover in my movie collections.  It is also the only one that is.

And is there a collection.xml in that album folder?

What path is shown if you right click on that collection and select edit info?  That should be where that collection.xml exists.

Not that I can find, cannot find a collections.xml

I think I see what you are saying, Its a Prodigy album

I have 2 of the same

Prodigy - Invaders must die

Prodigy - Invaders must die (extended)

Would it pick up this as a collection?

I'm going to delete the smaller one they are the same album anyway, then try a rescan.

I wasn't aware that music would appear in the movies collections, that to me is just odd.

The path shown is \\NAS\Music\T\The Prodigy\Invaders Must Die  -and no xml file

Movies are in \\NAS\Videos\Movies

I think I found the spurious error.

I have a folder withing that has [boxedset] in its title.  I'll delete that aswell - an educated guess would lay money on that being the problem file.

Yes the legacy [boxset] naming will cause anything in that folder to become a collection.

It doesn't matter what content type it is as all collections are equal to Emby.

Hi,

That was the cause [boxedset]

I don't mind the albums being a collection, but I don't understand why it would be listed as a movie collection? It should only be listed under music as a music collection.

Anyway, its gone now with the re-scan after removing the [boxedset] from the title.

Thanks for your help, you put me on to the correct train of thought to find this problem.

Note to self, don't use this word [boxedset] with music!

Collections can contain any type of media.  Therefore, they have no type themselves.
