How does Emby handle Library Updates/Trash Removal?

I have real-time monitoring of my folders enabled but I'm not sure how reliable (if it works at all) this is when storage is not local but rather on a network resource.  Can anyone attest to this?  My storage is attached via NFS shares.

 

Also, how does Emby handle trash removal?  Does it do this automatically or does one have to do it manually?  If manual, where is this done?

It will work with some network setups but not all.

 

Trash removal is automatic.

How often? And what happens if my network storage is unavailable during trash removal?

During library scans. Right now it just tries to be smart about whether the whole node is offline or a folder has been removed.
