xbox one app update causing xbox media remote to not work

The new xbox one app is not allowing my Xbox media Remote to work any longer when i start a show if i need to turn subs off or do anything once the video start i am unable to cause once you hit the left or right arrow it exits the video.. please advice if there is a fix?

I am facing similar problem. Soon after starting movie if I want to forward/reverse or turn off the Subtitles the app crashes.
