K22R8CT 25 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 If I have a file: Movie X In a dedicated folder: Movie X [1995] Deleting Movie X produces the following error: This problem appears to be specific to files with their own folders. For example: If I have a folder: Series Y With multiple files: Episode 1 Episode 2 Episode 3 I can delete the files without error. Note: I have not tested deleting all Episode files in the example above.

ebr 16199 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 If I have a file: Movie X In a dedicated folder: Movie X [1995] Unrelated but you should change those square brackets to parens.

Next time I delete I'll post the log. Unrelated but you should change those square brackets to parens. Curious, why?
Luke 42086 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 We parse the data inside parenthesis, such as movie (year).mkv. We do not do anything with data inside brackets.
K22R8CT 25 Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 Got it, thanks. I thought it might be an issue with escape characters.
Guest asrequested Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 The only time I get this, is when I manually delete something in windows explorer. The server holds onto the folder, and then I try to delete it in emby, I get that pop-up. When deleting only in emby, I don't get the pop-up. I prefer to delete in explorer. It's quicker. I also make replacements and I need to use explorer, for that. It's a pain to have to delete in emby before I can replace the folder and files.
ebr 16199 Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Yes, the most likely cause of this is that some other program (like an Explorer window) is holding one of the files (or the folder) open so that Emby is not able to delete it.
K22R8CT 25 Posted September 22, 2017 Author Posted September 22, 2017 (edited) Deleted a movie in its own folder, got the error. Error log attached. Hang on. I'm running the latest version which I thought was .NET Core, but the logs reference mono... emby_error.txt Edited September 22, 2017 by Anon28109
