ilovetesting 0 Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Hi! I'm having a problem with folder that contain pictures and videos... The pictures don't show. Even the sub folders that have only pictures don't show the pictures, other sub folders that have pictures and videos, show only the videos..... I saw some posts talking about this and some of them with answers that say this is solved, but i still have that problem. I'm using version 3.2.30.0 What is the correct configuration to have this working? Thanks
arrbee99 1817 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 This won't help much I guess, but you mean no pictures are showing anywhere - that's actual pictures not images for folders which contain pictures. You set the content type to Home Videos and Photos ? would it be worth trying a different type, maybe Unset with one or two photos and videos added ? Maybe run some updates under Scheduled Tasks ? Sorry, grasping at straws here. 1
Luke 42085 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Yes what content type did you setup the library with?
ilovetesting 0 Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 (edited) Hi! I already set as mixed, photos and videos, photos. Nothing seems to work. Now i have tried with the beta 3.2.30.26 and it seems to work, let me try again from a clean installation to see what is wrong. This is the beauty of portable. Just delete a folder and start all over. Thanks. Edited September 20, 2017 by ilovetesting
ilovetesting 0 Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 Hi! After some tests i found a huge problem with Emby. Let me explain this. To begin, the only option that works with Photos is the Photos option. With this option i can see photos and videos. I can see ISO, JPG, MP4, AVI, MKV... And can't see MP3 or WAV files Home Photo and Videos does not work and mixed content doesn't work too. I really can't understand why are these option available. If i add a library to the same location but for music, i can't see the music files because there is a Photo library pointing to the same folder. If i delete the Photo library then i can see the music files. If i again create the Photo library pointing to the same folder with the music then i can't see the Photos and videos. So it seems that i can't have more than one Library pointing to the same location. We know that the files we archive at home are almost all organized by dates and the files in those folders are mostly mixed. (sound, photos, videos, documents and compressed files) It seems to me this is a big limitation. I have a structure of my files like this... Archive (disk P:) |--Archived files |--2016 |--home photos and videos |--2016-05-Trip to somewhere |--here are jpg, avi, mp4, etc... mostly videos and photos |--2016-06-Trip to somewhere |--here are jpg, avi, mp4, etc... mostly videos and photos |--other files archived, pdfs, docs, zips of my work |--other folders and files with jpg, png, mp3, wav, avi from work |--2017 |--home photos and videos |--2017-05-Trip to somewhere |--here are jpg, avi, mp4, etc... mostly videos and photos |--other files archived, pdfs, docs, zips of my work |--other folders and files with jpg, png, mp3, wav, avi from work |--Music |--Artist |--Album |-- mp3 files (it can have jpg files of the album) |--MusicCDs |--Artist |--cue and wav files (it can have jpg files of the album) |--MusicDVDs |--Artist - name of the DVD |--iso files of the dvds |--Books |--Programming |--pdf, jpg, docs files and some zips |--other |--pdf, jpg, docs files and some zips |--Movies |--avi files and iso files |--Music |--avi, mkv, mp4 files |--Courses |--avi files and some zips with avi files What i'm looking with emby is a way to have access to all my multimedia content using a browser. Like this i can have access from everywhere. What i only need is an Internet Connection. The way Emby works it seems to limit the share of all this. I thought that the Mixed Content was what i where looking for... A way to address everything. Just scan a folder or drive and every type of file it found and recognizes it will put in the library. But theses seems not to be the case. Some folders i can separate, but others i really have mixed content in there. If i choose to have photos library of my "archived files" i can't have the same folder as music or books, so this is a problem. So how can i address my problem and have access to this all structure? Sorry to be a so extensive in this post, but this is my situation. Thanks
Luke 42085 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 This is an exceptional case, but mixed content is really for our old school Media Browser 2 users to continue to mix Movies and TV together. It is not intended to support music or photos.
ilovetesting 0 Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 Well If i could add the same folder to different type of content that could help.
pacusi 2 Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 Bump ilovetesting, did you come up with a solution for this? I currently have Music videos stored under music artist and their albums but currently the mixed content view only shows the music not the videos. I try to create another library just for music videos but this doesn't seem to work either.
Luke 42085 Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 That's currently not supported, but it's something we can look at for the future. Thanks.
