sprtfan 3 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I was not thinking long term when I first set up MB server and realized that I shouldn't have put in on the admin account. I had some problems earlier and was told that having MB server start multiple times could be a problem and I wanted to make sure that moving MB Server to a different account was as easy as uninstalling it from the admin account then just reinstalling it under a different user. I'm running Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials. Thanks
Logos302 86 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 it that easy. you'll have to set it up again as well.
sprtfan 3 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 thought it probably was, but whenever I assume things, it normally comes back and bites me in the ass. Thanks

I had some problems earlier and was told that having MB server start multiple times could be a problem ... Er, could you please say more about the problems? I'm running the server on WHS 2011, and I only have the Administrator account available to run MB server under. What are these problems that I should expect? Thanks.
sprtfan 3 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 MB server was crashing on me a few times a day at one point. One of the potential causes was having multiple instances of MB Server running at the same time. MB server has been working fine for me since the last update and I've had no problems with it on the admin account. I just didn't want the admin account to auto log in and be logged into all the time so I wanted to move it to a standard user account. The reason I asked the question was that I didn't want to create a problem by installing it onto another user account and wanted to make sure that uninstalling it from the admin account wouldn't leave anything behind that could cause a problem. I don't think you'll have any problems having it on the admin account. I'm moving it more due to some security concerns and a few other programs I'm going to be running on the server as well.
