IBN or metadata?

Hi

I have updated Emby server though several large changes including moving to the metadata folder. I have an old IBN folder on another drive that I thought was not in use so I renamed it ImagesByName.old and did a fresh library scan. I lost the icon images for Movies, TV series etc, I now just have a solid color rectangle so it suggests some parts of IBN were still in use.

I have few questions I hope somebody can help with:

1) Is the ImagesByName folder can not required, i.e. can I delete it?

2) How can I restore the default emby movie, TV series icons? i.e. those that have a picture made up of four strips built from your own collections

3) How can I get Emby to use my custom icons?

Many thanks

1)  Yes IBN folder can be deleted, but I would move its content to your metadata folder so it can be reused.

2)  Are you referring to the My Media icons?  If so the right click the library and select "edit image".

3) You would have to be more specific, what icons?

1) Many thanks, it will free up some disk space deleting the old IBN folder. Most sub-folders seem to exist in the new metadata folder but there is no general folder. Should I create a general folder under metadata?

2) Yes the My Media icons for Movies, Collections TV Series and Music Videos. I used to have a system generated picture e.g. for movies it was four strips created from slices of posters in my movie collection. Can I get new ones of these?

3) For custom icons I was thinking of those by Xzener, are the pictures those icons were used for still applicable in Emby or were they just for the Windows Media Centre add-on? Where would I put them in the metadata folder? Are they part of views or do I need to create a general\movies general\TV series etc folders as per IBN?

1)  Most, maybe not all folders from IBN should carry over to metadata folder.  Note like the "people" folder, should be copied into metadata so the server does not have to redownload actor images again or your old folder may have more images.

2)  After a Library scan or two the server should generate those dynamic images.

3)  Not sure on what images those are if they were specific to WMC (I never used WMC).  But if they were specific to WMC and you are not using WMC any more, then you should be able to delete without any issue.

In which folder should I put a custom picture for the My Media Icons please? Using a general\movies folder in metadata does not seem to work.

You can do that in the server web interface.
