Optimum Poster Size

Hi guys,

 

Media Center Master can automatically resize poster art to reduce lag.

But the MCM default values seem quite small.  Maybe they are from an earlier time.

 

What is the optimum size for poster art?

 

I'm using the Chocolate Theme.

My resolution is 1920 x 1080.

TMDb requirements

Posters must meet the following criteria:

 

A preferred resolution of 1000x1500

A minimum resolution of 500x750

Aspect ratio of 1:1.5

 

 

TVDb requirements

 

Series

 

Images must be 680x1000

Images should include the series name

Images should not be stretched or resized to get to the needed resolution

Images must be a jpg

Images must be less than 500KB

 

 

Seasons

 

Season banners must be 400x578 for DVD Covers

500 x 750 is probably the lowest you want to go. The 1:1.5 ration is the key though... Just stick with it.

This will only save you disk space.  The clients request the art at the size they will display it.
