AtoM_84 0 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Hello, I made a first installation of the server MB3 and the client MB3 (not the classic one). Everything worked perfectly. On my main computer I installed the server, configured it to access to folders through the network on a NAS (QNAP one). Everything was OK, the NAS acting as a computer in the network was detected. After first reboot of both computer acting as server and NAS, everything got wrong. I was no longer able to launch the dashboard. After removing all the MB3 software, I re install them. I started with the server. Each time, first installation is OK and I access the dashboard but even if the NAS is connected and I'm logged in the configuration pages can't access the directories (sometimes path does not exist, sometimes an error occrured). After a reboot of the MB3 server, no longer access on port 8096 on localhost. Fully unable to access anything. I always have to re install to access the dashboard and I experience the same behavior each time. Is someone knowing anything about this problem? (Access port to authorise? where? difficulties to access folders through the network?) My OS is Windows 8.1. Thanks in advance. If I have some news and find any way to solve this problem, I will be back. PS: Sorry for my english, I'm french.
pmac 143 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I would suggest posting your server log and possibly your MBTheater log (I believe that's the client you are referring to), this way, it will be a lot easier to diagnose your issue.
Solution WWWestern 94 Posted February 27, 2014 Solution Posted February 27, 2014 1. You should launch the MBS as "Run as administrator". 2. You should avoid using virtual discs, configure UNC paths instead. BTW for pmac suggestion I would add screenshots of Media Library configuration pages from dashboard. 1
AtoM_84 0 Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Hi, Now my MB3 server is running perflecty. To give some additionnal informations completing the post of WWWestern, I'll run MBS as administrator (mandatory). Then the path were not working even using UNC. This is because, even if I had logged in my QNAP NAS from windows explorer (with password), the path was unable to enter due to the password access. So i'll put in the configuration panels, in the section users, and finally in manage windows credentials ("gestionnaire d'identification" in french), my log in and password to access the QNAP Nas. After that, when I try to give path for the different media categories, I have to enter manually the complete path (no navigation available in the network folder to the nas). But it works finally. Thanks a lot Now I have issues with MB3 theater (but I will continue on another forum).
