railfrog 0 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Do i have to install both server and client software for this to work? The setup I have at home does not allow me to install software client side. Will it work with just the server software installed? The system that will show the files from the server is DLNA certified
darkassassin07 653 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 (edited) The server software gets installed on the machine you want to host your content (ie, the machine that has all the media that other devices connect to.). The client software is what you install on the devices you want to connect to the server, though is not required. The server has a client built in that you can access in a web browser via http://localhost:8096 (on the server machine) or via http://<server-ip-here>:8096 for other devices ex:http://192.168.0.106:8096) You mentioned DLNA: note only DLNA devices on the same local network as the server will be available to it. railfrog 0 Posted September 10, 2017 Author Posted September 10, 2017 I have installed the software server side. My device should pick up the media server but it does not. I will not be viewing via web browser either.
railfrog 0 Posted September 10, 2017 Author Posted September 10, 2017 have just tried to re-install the server software and have an error message about "unhandled exception"
