dimitrik 14 Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 As of the latest update to v 3.2.30.0, all my movies have disappeared from emby server. None of the clients can see them (iOS, UWP, Windows desktop, ember, Roku or web client). They are also not visible in the metadata editor. Emby for WMC shows some in the latest added movies view in EHS, but when I go into the library I can't see them. Movies by Genre view in emby WMC also shows them but cannot play them. My movies are in a folder called "Films" on my NAS. All my libraries are defined as "mixed content" because we don't like the "views" in my household. I also have mixed libraries containing folders with both TV series and Movies, e.g. "Animation" and "Star Trek". As of the last update all these folders also disappeared, while the remaining content (I.e. standard TV series) is there. I use the naming scheme specified in the wiki by the way. I reverted to the old version of the server (3.2.28.0) and everything is back the way it should be, so I have no immediate worries, but I hope to be able to update again once this is fixed. Please let me know if I can help squash this bug with logs etc.
dimitrik 14 Posted September 10, 2017 Author Posted September 10, 2017 I did several library scans. I also added a library with my movies which wss categorised as "movies" to no avail. I beleive the server kew the moviews were there but it simply did not display any of them or any folders with movies inside. I believe this because when I went into Suggestions , there were movies there, depending on the viewing habits of each user. But they were otherwise inaccessible as were other (non suggested) movies. By the way, I tested this on the synology as well as the windows version of the server.
Luke 42085 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Can you show us the folder structure of this library? thanks.
dimitrik 14 Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 Sure. Its pretty complicated but as far as I know, it complies with the Emby recommended naming scheme as per the wiki. "FILMS" Library: \\video\films\genre\title (year) e.g. \\video\films\action\some movie (1997) \\video\films\comedy\some other movie (2014) "CARTOONS" Library \\video\toons\series title \\video\toons\collection title\series title\season #\S0#E0# - episode title.mkv \\video\toons\collection title\movie title (year)\movie title.mkv e.g. \\video\toons\series title \\video\toons\DC Animated Universe\Batman Beyond\Season 1\S01E01 - Rebirth.mkv \\video\toons\DC Animated Universe\Batman, Mask of the Phantasm (1993)\Batman Mask of the Phantasm.mkv "CLASSICS" Library \\video\classics\series title\season #\S0#E0# - episode title.mkv \\video\classics\collection title\series title\season #\S0#E0# - episode title.mkv \\video\classics\collection title\movies\movie title (year)\movie title.mkv e.g. \\video\classics\Friends\season 1\S01E01 - The One where Monica gets a Roommate.mkv \\video\classics\Star Trek\Star Trek Next Generation\season 1\S01E01 - Encounter at farpoint.mkv \\video\classics\Star Trek\Movies\Star Trek II, The Wrath of Khan (1982)\Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan.mkv All Libraries are "unset - mixed content" type. All folders with multiple items have a "collection.xml" file in them so Emby knows how to treat them. All items have metadata generated with MediaCenterMaster in emby format. Emby is set to NOT download metadata from the internet. In all the above cases, the latest version does not display any movies as well as any collections (i.e. folders) with a mix of movies and TV. As I said, reverting to the previous version, eliminated the problem. I hope this helps!
ebr 16195 Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 3.2.29 - Collections (i.e. BoxSets) missing
dimitrik 14 Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 That's useful, thanks ebr. I will wait for the next release.
Happy2Play 9784 Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 (edited) All folders with multiple items have a "collection.xml" file in them so Emby knows how to treat them. All items have metadata generated with MediaCenterMaster in emby format. Is that actually your issue? It should be if collection.xml files exist in category folders. And you resolved it in beta .9.
