mmmann 8 Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 Bug Report: Stranded *.nfo Files Server Version: 3.2.30.0 Overview: renaming or deleting media file does not delete its NFO file. To duplicate: copy in a better version of a movie (e.g. 480p -> 1080p). Go into the directory and rename the older *480p*.mkv to *480p*.mk_. Perhaps you want to keep the old 480p copy as a safety net rather than deleting it. Note: copying in a new version of the media may not be necessary to duplicate this. Wait and watch: Emby will create the *1080p*.nfo metadata file, but it will leave the *480p*.nfo file even though there is no longer any playable, recognizable media file of this name.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 There has never been any cleanup for situations like this. So it can't be a bug. And if there was then your renamed media would get delete also and some people wouldn't like that either.
Luke 42085 Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 If you perform the delete using Emby then it will also delete the nfo file. If you perform the delete outside of Emby, then no, it's not designed to clean up your mess
