mmmann 8 Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 Question: can the name of the *.nfo file be, "movie.nfo" at all times, for the first (and only) media? It seems that Emby wants to name the NFO file with the base name of the media, e.g. Aliens.720p.mkv yields Aliens.720p.nfo. This is extremely aggravating because (1) if you want to edit the file, you can't simply refer to 'movie.nfo', and (2) it makes the code in my Media Management program complicated...very complicated, as it must scan the drive for NFO files rather than issue pre-built commands that refer directly to a static filename, and (3) it makes upgrading movies difficult, since you have to "rm -f movie.480p.mkv *.nfo" before you copy in the "movie.1080p.mkv," to make sure you don't end up with two NFO files for the latest (and only) copy of the movie in the directory. If I promise to keep only ONE media file in a movie directory (which is my convention), is there an option to name the first and only NFO, "movie.nfo?"
mmmann 8 Posted September 9, 2017 Author Posted September 9, 2017 Oops! This should have been in the General/Windows forum. Can it be moved?

Well, I added it to my other stuff, but I might be able to split this out into it's own plugin. It basically inherits from the MediaBrowser.XbmcMetadata.Savers.MovieNfoSaver and changes the name used, forcing it to be path\movie.nfo.
