tp546 41 Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 Hey guys, One of my top level folders has 12 sub folders inside it, but I just noticed only 2 of them are actually showing up in Emby now, where they all were before. I don't know what happened but I have tried doing a refresh in the metadata manager a couple of times, but it hasn't fixed the issue. Any ideas on how I can fix this?
Luke 42080 Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 Why do you think only two of them are showing up?
tp546 41 Posted September 8, 2017 Author Posted September 8, 2017 Why do you think only two of them are showing up? Because that is all I see in the metadata manager and in the web app and in emby classic. The strange thing is that items from those subfolders are showing up in my newly added items list on the home screen in emby classic. I'm thoroughly confused
Luke 42080 Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 can you discuss your folder structure and emby library setup in more detail? thanks.
tp546 41 Posted September 8, 2017 Author Posted September 8, 2017 (edited) can you discuss your folder structure and emby library setup in more detail? thanks. Sure, this is what I see in the metadata manager for that folder (Porn): But this is what the folder actually contains: Does that help? Let me know if I can provide anything else. Happy2Play 9782 Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 What is the content type for that Library?
tp546 41 Posted September 8, 2017 Author Posted September 8, 2017 What is the content type for that Library? Unset (mixed content)
Luke 42080 Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 i would suggest home videos for this library.
tp546 41 Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 i would suggest home videos for this library. Will that fix it? If I do that, is there a way to preserve my favorites for that folder when I remove and add it again?
Happy2Play 9782 Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Do you have a collection.xml file in any of those missing folders?
bfir3 117 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 i would suggest home videos for this library. So is what this user is experiencing expected for the Unset (Mixed) content type?
Happy2Play 9782 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 So is what this user is experiencing expected for the Unset (Mixed) content type? Unless all internet options are turned off for that library, Home Videos is a more appropriate content type. And without specific information of the folder contents no one will ever know.
dansblackcat 37 Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) I think I'm having the same or similar issue? I have 3 folders that are filled with subfolders. EG: F:/Movies/Shark Movies/ Sharknado or F:/Movies/Zombie Movies/ Dawn of the Dead... These used to work fine but now in EMC I no longer see the main folders. In the web browser or Android app I can see the individual movies that are in these folders. All folders contain a movie file mkv, avi and an xml file, artwork etc.. Each main folder has a collections.xml file Not sure when they stopped appearing EDIT: Looks like I found my problem here - https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/50413-3229-collections-ie-boxsets-missing/page-4&do=findComment&comment=483925 Edited September 13, 2017 by dansblackcat

tp546 41 Posted September 13, 2017 Author Posted September 13, 2017 Do you have a collection.xml file in any of those missing folders? yes! that seems to be the consistent thing here and they were just created on 9/8/17. How do I prevent them from being created again?
Happy2Play 9782 Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 yes! that seems to be the consistent thing here and they were just created on 9/8/17. How do I prevent them from being created again? Did you use another program to make your collections? Emby wouldn't have put the collection.xml there if collections were made with Emby.
tp546 41 Posted September 15, 2017 Author Posted September 15, 2017 Did you use another program to make your collections? Emby wouldn't have put the collection.xml there if collections were made with Emby. No, I use meta browser but it wouldn't create collections.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 I have no idea how they were created then as Emby does not create collection.xml files in your library. All of Emby;s collection.xml files exist in "\Emby-Server\data\collections". The collections bug in current stable will be resolved in the next release as discussed in other topics.
Luke 42080 Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 So after you deleted collections.xml everything came back?
