firestorm213 6 Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 I'm be curious to hear from the rest of the community as to rather they would like this as well. I once had all my audio books under the content type of music. The cool thing about this is it treats each author as an artist and allows for the storage of info about the author. This is obviously a manual process but I like having info about the author so my wife and kids can read about the type of books the author writes before diving into an audio book. The other neat thing is occasionally MusicBrainz occasionally picks up the meta data for the book. (see attached) So to my request: I'd like to have the option to store/display meta data for authors and books with audio book content type. I understand this would be a mostly manual process but it's worth the trouble to me. The other issue I've ran into with the audiobook content type is the web version of emby and emby theater play from where I left off without issue but the android mobile app always starts back over from the beginning. Not sure how much of an endeavor this is. 2
Luke 42078 Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Expanding on audio book metadata is planned for a future release. The android resume issue is also something i'm aware of and is on my to do list. Thanks !

You can find the specifications here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/50141-embook-proper-support-for-audiobooks/
gwBGfJ8xvczHo3t 2 Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 I have fixed the script for MP3Tag which parses Audiobook Metadata from Audible. Maybe this might be interesting for you too? https://community.mp3tag.de/t/web-source-script-fur-audible/14528/35 If expanded metadata for audiobooks is coming, will there be also an option to display the publishers information for each book? I am aprsing it to the "comments" section of the mp3 tags and it would be nice to have it displayed in the music section when online download of metadata is disabled.
Luke 42078 Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 We use ffprobe for audio files so I guess we'll have to see what information it extracts. And yes we'd like to do all the features you'd expect for audio books. 1
