No titles in DLNA after upgrade from Jessie to stretch

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi

I just upgraded my Emby-Server VM from jessie to stretch.

I also changed the sources list accordingly.

After the upgrade all my DLNA shares are empty on my DLNA TV (Samsung UE40ES6300).

The folders of the library are showing up but they are all empty.

In the WebUI all works well i can even play the movies on my tv over the WebUI.

I don't know wich logs you need or wich actions i have to do to log the error.

So i am ready to do the neccesary steps to get these.

Thank You =)

@@Luke I did a fresh install of emby server version 3.3.1.0

Still not working same issue?

What additional info can i provide to you to help fix this issue?

Thanks

Edit: i installed a very old version of Emby Server (3.2.26.0) and with this everything works fine.

And after that i used 3.2.27.0 wich doesnt work anymore. So the fault is between these versions.

What year is this TV?

Posted (edited)

@@Luke The TV is 2012 / 2013 wich i statet earlier.

Also another Info :

I installed a very old version of Emby Server (3.2.26.0) and with this everything works fine.

And after that i used 3.2.27.0 wich doesnt work anymore. So the fault is between these versions.

Edit: Also checked with a Samsung UE40F6500 with Software Version T-MST12DEUC-2126.0,BT-S/G

Emby Server-version 3.2.26.0 works and 3.2.27.0 does not work.

So to sum it up

Model: UE40ES6300

Software: T-MST10PDEUC-2007.0

and

Model: UE40F6500

Software: T-MST12DEUC-2126.0

Both TVs only show movies in dlna share until Emby Server 3.2.26.0

On emby Server 3.2.27.0 and later it does not work anymore and all shares are empty.

I also attached a image with proof that version 3.2.26.0 works.

In this POST you can see in the image that it does not work on anything later than 3.2.26.0.

Please let me know if you need more info.

Thanks

Can you use Wireshark to compare xml output between the two?

Here are the two versions filtered by xml and destinatination.

Hope it helps

it's really strange because everything is almost the same.  For kicks, can you please try a fresh, portable install of the latest emby server? If you do it portable it won't affect your current installation. Thanks.

@@Luke here the cap from version 3.3.1.5 beta

FYI i use this filter in wireshark:

xml &&  ip.dst == 192.168.178.53

Also 2 pictures how the "Movies" folder looks like between the two versions.

Also all three caps where from fresh installs.

So it shows the top level folders?

Posted

It only shows the "Movies" folder but in there is nothing.

On the working server (3.2.26.0) it shows the "Movies" folder and in there everything like Genres Collection etc and in there are my Movies.

To show it to you i made a short clip of it.

I hope that makes it a little clearer.

Yea i understand, thanks. It's just the difference between the two servers is not obvious.

I can send you the full unfiltered traffic over PM if that helps.

But please use it responsibly.

Scrubsss, thank you again for the 3.2.26 version. That actually worked for me.

(On a side note, to make life a little easier for the rest of my family, they love the App and not the DLNA, I started to rip the DTS and transcoding it to AC3 5.1, max settings, and adding it to the Video files, so there is no transcoding on the server, and it just passes through the Sonos speakers as 5.1. )

No problem.

But it would be better if you didn't use this version.

It's old and there could be pontential security flaws.

Also you can't use the emby mobile app with this version.

The app tells you to update the server.

If you only use this server locally thats not a problem.

@@Luke send you the files. Did it help?

@@Scrubsss, thanks for that, I had upgraded to the latest version, and like I had said, just started transcoding the DTS to AC3, and adding it to the file. The family loves the look of the Emby app, so if it makes them happy and easy to use, so be it. Happy wife, means a happy long life. lol
