NomadCF 15 Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Way to often after an upgrade I find images "missing" from movies,v shows, etc. And I have 4 options. First is to restore from my snapshot and just keep using the old version. Second is to manually all the missing content with missing images. Third is to just remove the content from the database. And forth is to just wait the minimum 30 days for the scheduled task "Librbary Scan" to refresh the metadata via "Automatically refresh metadata from the internet" in the per library settings.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 If you just need to refresh metadata you can do that from the metadata manager already. Select a library and you'll find the option for immediate refresh in the context menu. That's the three dot icon in the upper right corner.
NomadCF 15 Posted September 2, 2017 Author Posted September 2, 2017 ... I think your missing the point about needing to be able to do this on mass. If it was only a few items missing. I wouldn't have care and would have just fixed them. But thanks for trying to help all the same.
Happy2Play 9785 Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 You can hold the mouse buttons on a item to open multi-select option or Refresh your library from My Media (three dot menu or right click) or Refresh it from Library (select the three dot menu)
NomadCF 15 Posted September 2, 2017 Author Posted September 2, 2017 Its over 100 items in each source. I was just look I for an option that was refresh everything now. Aka something way less than 30 days. No worries, I've already added the the options to my local fork of emby. Feel free to close this thread.

I must be confused as this option already exists at Library/Top level. Right click-Refresh metadata-select the type of refresh you want. And the real issue would be why are you loosing images with server updates.

One whole freaking library at a time or you can do All your libraries at once if you like, just click the top level. Can't help with doing 'on mass' though, saving physical space was my main reason for moving to digital storage...seriously though, @@Happy2Play is right, the real issue is the missing images. They don't just disappear when I upgrade. If you aren't already, I suggest you tick the box to store the metadata with the movie files. If you ever need to rebuild your cache it can run a LOT faster that way.
