How to play videos that are in a file on Galaxy S7

just switched over from Plex.  I have success in setting up my W10 laptop as emby server.  I also have success in playing these videos back on multiple devices including the laptop, Galaxy s7, Fire stick using appropriate Emby apps.

 

I have NOT been able to view any videos that I independently have on my SD card on the Galaxy S7 using the S7 as the playback device.  How do I add a library that represents the video files that are on the SD card.  It appears I have to download/sync from the Emby desktop server selected videos.  I guess a workaround is to move phone videos onto my laptop and then Emby sync some/all of them back to my phone but that seems wrong.

 

I was able to do this with Plex, but does not seem that Emby support files that reside on my phone.

 

When I am on my phone, I sometimes download videos to my phone.  I should be able to view them on my phone using Emby Android App (and if I choose, mirror them to my TV)
