did you make sure to start emby server?

Yes it's started.

So now I have the old 3.2.25-r1 version working on the nas but too old for the android apps that tell me to upgrade, and then I upgraded emby server is not working....

What can I do?

What version? You mean the one supplied by asustor?

Yes the one provided by asustor

Does it happen even without using any Emby apps? For instance, what if you just start the server from the asustor console and then do nothing else?

The one provided by asustor is working (excepting too old for apps)

With the latest package nothing working.

I even can't reach the server web page

@@freeflight29 has the initial library scan completed yet? if not, then that could be why there are only 37 films showing up. thanks.

I reinstall all again, with the latest emby asustor package 3.2.40.0 and only 2-3 films to test.

All was good. But by now when I feed my video folder with new film (ten more) the web interface is coming unreachable.

I will try to get and post some logs with winscp tomorrow if I've time.

Hi I´m currently using emby with 2 server, 1xTVS-873 Qnap and 1xAS6404T Asus.

In my case I think that the real-time monitoring doesn´t work with the Asus server.

In fact it doesnt work at all.

I use the settings that the metadata are stored in the same folder than the video files.

I´ve waited the entire night and no metadata was added.

I´ve used emby latest and currently using the Asustor offical newest emby build. I waited in fact two nights. I go to sleep and in the morning no metadata files were added. (*.jpg & *.nfo) With the Qnap everything works fine?!

Please have a look at this problem, I mean realtime monitoring should work after a few seconds (minutes) ....

Thanks a lot, Michael :-) I also rebuild the complete library, made a scan and than put one video in a folder. No metadata was added. :-(

@@michael72 On QNAP the server runs as root whereas on Asustor it runs as a dedicated emby user. Please make sure that user has write access to your shares if you wish to save metadata locally.

Hello Michael,

On the as6404t can you reach the web interface easily? Or it came unreachable and you have to restart the apps to reach again the web interface?

Thx

Hi everybody,

I have the same problem that described above : when performing a library scan, emby crashes and becomes unavailable. I then have to deactivate and reactivate the server app from App Central to get in running again.

It seems the scan crashes around 70%. The films are correctly added but apparently images or metadata not all imported. So maybe it crashes when scraping for metadata and images, the logs don't show a lot...

Unfortunately, it is so far unusable because the first scan could never be completed !

Also, to answer an above post, the emby user (and group) is hidden from ADM. As far as I know we can't do anything with it. It appears in the passwd and groups files in etc (through SSH), but the files are locked.

Thx,
Romani

Thanks for the feedback, I didn't have issues with the user because I put videos in the public folder, might have to run as root like Qnap, it's very ugly but it'll always work.

I don't have your problem : the .nfo and images were correctly added to my /video folder.

If you have'nt tried already, I would try uninstalling Emby server, restarting the NAS, and starting again from scratch (the old turning it off and on again trick)
