new user, playback on Galaxy S7 fails

I am trying to move from Plex to Emby.  So far installed Emby Server on desktop W10 and paid to activate Emby Premium.  Playback on the desktop worked fine.  

 

I then installed Emby app on Galaxy S7 and tried to playback a video from the desktop server.  It shows the server, shows the library options but when I select one for playback using my phone, but the screen is black while the android info bar at top flashers on and off and jumps an 1/8 inch up and down. Tried multiple movies.  Also tried disabling HW overlay in developer options as recommended by one community member.  

Also tried changing the playback bitrate from auto to something slow, I think 480...still a problem. 

IDEAs????

 

I sure hope this works eventually because I found Plex less than reliable so I reluctantly paid the onetime lifetime fee to Emby.

 

Going to go install app on Samsung TV and Sony TV next.

Works great on Samsung TV app and a Fire Stick app on same Samsung.

Also works great on a second Fire Stick on a Sony TV

 

I am going to enable HW overlay again since that did not seem to help my Galaxy phone playback from desktop server.

 

Finally, somewhat unrelated, how do I point Emby Android App to my movies on my android phone?  I know how to add a library from my desktop server but how do I add a library from my android phone?

I noticed that the flashing also includes the player control bar at the bottom.

problem solved, can access video from laptop to android phone  and play with no flickering.  thanks
