KarlDag 25 Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Hey guys! Just got the update on my chromebook allowing me to use the Play Store and android apps. I thought let's try emby, but the Emby Mobile app can't be installed. What's weird is, the AndroidTV version can. I installed it and it seems to run fine... is that a conscious decision? Is it a mistake that the regular phone/tablet version isn't available? Is the TV version available only because I'm running the beta? Thanks!
Luke 42077 Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Hi @@KarlDag, i'll have to check on this because I thought it had been previously available. thanks.

I actually quite like the AndroidTV version, works well with the big screen, but it's missing some options like offline sync.
Luke 42077 Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Unfortunately I'm not quite sure of why you can't install it. I'm actually debugging a chromebook related issue for another user regarding the mobile app, so I know that some people are able to install it.

Anyway to find out on my end?
KarlDag 25 Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 Come to think of it, could it be because my Chromebook doesn't have a touchscreen? I guess the AndroidTV doesn't require that, which would explain why I can install that version (which is still weird given that my Chromebook doesn't/shouldn't support leanback apps as far as I understand.
Luke 42077 Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Yes I suppose that is possible. I'll have to look into that. Thanks.

Google allows us to set a property on our app to allow it to install on the Lean Back interface but not one to ONLY install on that interface...
